Editor, Picked up our weekly edition of the VJ today and was reminded of a conversation with some friends and acquaintances last week over coffee. I was asking about something in that VJ edition, and one response was - we don’t bother with the news. Knowing they watch OAN I would have to agree with them. I guess that is not unlike the current fad of forcing school districts to remove books with certain subjects from their library. If it is not what you want/believe/think/do etc. ban it from everyone. Our kids will never find out, right? What would our world look like... uhm, maybe that is exactly what our world will look like if, as Bob would say, “we the people” ...
Editor, As small as Ronan is I never thought a neighbor would steal. I’m 80 years old, on very low social security. My dear childhood friend lives in Ronan, on 4th Avenue SW. She too is alone and elderly. On the 6th of this month, post office left a package on her porch never to be seen again. It wa...

Editor, A word of sympathy to all of our friends in Lake County who had a sad loss of a loved one this past year. I do hope the holidays can bring a smile as you remember the wonderful, fun times with your loved one. “It’s been a tough year.” From a friend, Ethel McCready Missou...

Editor, After reading your article about “Vaccine mandate injunction” I want to comment. This is not a comment about getting vaccinated, vaccination is a personal choice, but how it could affect our hospitals. If the federal government stops CMS payments to hospitals, we will lose both f...
Editor, Our Montana legislature has made voting more difficult for many groups - including Native Americans and other rural voters, people with disabilities, younger and student voters, people with inflexible work schedules, and those who discover a problem with their registration at the last minute. This...
Editor, Our nation and our world are presently fac- ing a most critical point towards continuing living our lives together here on earth. There are two outstanding very present and important issues. 1. Climate change. We must properly activate our technologies and techniques to maintain human life a...
Editor, To cat lovers – there’s one in-town colony with 21 kittens. All I can do is feed them to stop starvation. Just a few years ago Life Savers helped to keep the Polson feral cat population somewhat in check. I’m still feeding some survivors from that time. At that time the trap-neut...
Editor, I give Senator Jon Tester a hearty Montana thank you for sponsoring and pushing the recently passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act with bipartisan support. The Act will create jobs for Montana men and women across the state and will build roads, bridges, airports, and critical water projec...
