Signs are not on store property

Editor, In the 10/14/20 issue of the Valley Journal there was a letter to the editor from Dayna McClure about a “Drain the Swamp” sign. The writer claimed this sign was on Super 1 Foods property, that is not correct just as it was not correct in 2016. This sign, although close to one of our entry ways, is on the neighbor’s property. There are many political signs on private property in Polson, and I support everyone’s right to free speech. Super 1 Foods does not have any political signs posted or displayed on our property. Greg Hertz, Owner Super 1 Foods Polson

Dayton Daze organizers planning for next year

Editor, The Chief Cliff Volunteer Fire Department and QRU would like to thank everyone who contributed prizes and goods, purchased raffle tickets and gave of their time and energy to help make Dayton Daze another huge success. Although the number of event-goers was down due to COVID-19, those who did a...

Browning knows the issues

Editor, I know Gerry Browning, Democratic candidate for House District 12, as a friend, business owner, fellow community volunteer and P.E.O. sister. Browning volunteers to serve as treasurer for committees and organizations. She is fiscally tough. The questions come fast if proper paperwork is not submit...

Bullock’s true record considered

Editor,  To the shady political groups who are falsely claiming Governor Bullock is anything other than a strong ally to our law enforcement – you clearly haven’t been doing your research. Bullock has even publicly said that he does not support defunding the police multiple times. Dirt...

Voting for Browning

Editor,  I am encouraged to see Gerry Browning running for the state legislature to represent Polson and Lake County. It will be refreshing to have an honest, hard-working citizen without an agenda working for key issues such as healthcare, Medicare coverage, public lands and, of course, public educa...

Romano will stand up for public schools

Editor, I am proud of our public schools in Montana and deeply appreciate everything they do to support our children, especially during these difficult times. Now, our public schools need our support.  The person we elect as Superintendent of Public Schools has a duty to advocate for the welfare o...

Support small town candidate

Editor, We would urge the voters in Montana HD 12 to research the backgrounds of the two candidates on this year’s ballot. We have always chosen to vote for the person most qualified, regardless of party. We are urging you to choose Gerry Browning for our HD representative.   We became acqua...

Orwellian deal fails democracy

Editor,  Imagine an America with gun confiscation, rampant violence on the streets and your right to self-defense deemed illegal. That is a real possibility in just a few short months.  The Democrat party platform includes raising your taxes, destroying our energy industry with their insane O...

Re-elect Joe Read

Editor, I encourage Lake County voters in HD 93 to re-elect Joe Read. While Read will represent the will of voters, he must do so within constitutional boundaries as his oath dictates. In the past legislative session, Read introduced several bills that would have reformed the criminal justice system th...

Elections have consequences

Editor, The coming election will determine what the next several decades will look like in Congress and in the courts.  The Democrats have been talking about stacking the courts and creating new states for some time. The House of Representatives, under Nancy Pelosi, has already voted to make Washi...
