Letters to the Editor
Editor, I thought I would be relieved when our legislative session was over. I am relieved that I no longer have to spend hours every day tracking whatever unkind, hateful, controlling bills were in the pipeline and emailing various committees to express my horror and disapproval. For the party of less government our representatives sure were intent on controlling every aspect of their constituents’ lives that they did not agree with. Our legislators have taken this to the extreme, trying to outlaw everything they don’t believe in even if it does no harm, affects few people or takes away local government control. Between our representatives and community extremists, ...
Editor, The debt ceiling bill, championed and passed thanks in part to Representative Zinke, is a small step towards finding a sustainable and effective trajectory for healthy economic growth. Both Parties have for too long willfully created inflation through the false belief that as long as they have a p...
Editor, I would like to take the time to recognize and thank some outstanding citizens and Healthcare workers. Recently I was walking near the intersection of HWY 93 and Main Street when my hip gave out and I subsequently fell to the sidewalk. A very kind lady was stopped at the red light and got out of h...
Editor, Wednesday, April 26 was a sad day for Montana. Editor, When I want to buy a new car, I want to be able to negotiate a price rather than blindly pay the asking price. That’s because I’m a smart shopper. A recent letter to the editor in the Valley Journal stated that Medicare Advantage is being cut by $307 billion and criticiz...
Editor, I’m writing this letter regarding DUIs on the reservation. I had my share of trouble in my life and quit because I’m older now and don’t look for trouble in my life. In my life I have seen many things that weren’t right. Alcohol is a drug and it is a choice of w...
Editor, April is Alcohol Responsibility Month. As the weather begins to get warmer, it’s a great time for Montana families to start conversations about alcohol at home to prevent underage drinking. As the father of two adult children, I know firsthand that kids grow up fast. I also know it is cri...
Editor, Montana Senator Greg Hertz is presenting a bill on Friday (SB 566) that is an unabashed attempt to electioneer the next US Senate race at the cost of Montana Libertarians and our ability to maintain ballot access. The bill changes the Senate race to a top two primary where all candidates compete a...
