News from the Montana Department of Revenue MONTANA – Montanans have through April 15 to apply for two programs that may reduce their property taxes. The Property Tax Assistance Program helps Montana property owners with low incomes. Those who qualify can get a 30, 50, or 80 percent reduction of the tax rate on up to $200,000 of a home’s value. The owner must have a total 2018 federal adjusted gross household income of less than $23,337 (if single) or $31,116 (if married or head of household).
