LIBBY – Polson High swept the team titles at the Libby Invitational on Friday, boasting first place team scores for both boys and girls.
The girls’ score of 366 was a runaway first place with Lady Pirates Jaylin Kenney (84), Nicole Clairmont (87), and Peyton Anderson (94) taking the top three spots overall.
The Pirates logged a team score of 356 for the boys. Alex Killian (85) led the team coming in second for the tourney, followed by Reno Lindesmith (86) in the three spot.
On Saturday the Lady Pirates boasted another victory in the Hamilton Invitational with a team score of 376. In a strange three-way tie for first, Polson’s Jaylin Kenney and Nicole Clairmont, and Frenchtown’s Darby McNally all shot an 89. Lady Pirate Peyton Anderson (94) came away with fifth.
The Pirate boys team has nothing to hang their heads about with a team score of 327 right behind Anaconda for second overall. Pirate Dalton Noyes finished with a 72, fifth for the tournament.
Pirates and Lady Pirates are heading to the Divisional Tournament to be held in Whitefish Sept. 26-27.
