Editor,
I just have to join in on this election season. There have been so many of those vote cards arriving every day for months. I am sure many people are having a problem with them. The garbage can in the post office gets full every day as box holders discard them. Let’s look at another side to this.
First, there are many households that do not receive mail every day or even on a weekly basis in their boxes. This fills their box with colorful messages to read. Second, we should realize that those mail outs come addressed to the recipients. This makes them first class mail, and this is the life blood of our postal service, so accept them as a gift to our mail service and a gift to the recycle bins. Third, they have to be printed and that is an added boost to the print industry.
I used a mail-in-ballot, and the day it arrived, I filled it out, so the post cards do really no good after mail in day. Oh, well, we have free speech to guide us. Thank you for reading my election post.
