Consider who pays taxes

Editor,

The NY Times findings were widely published recently that President Trump paid $750 in income taxes in 2016 and 2017, and each of the eight years before, he paid zero. For reference, if you work full time and earn $10 an hour or more, you will owe more than that in federal taxes this year.

Greg Gianforte supports Donald Trump. He has been recorded saying that the type of taxes he likes is the kind that others pay and that he doesn’t pay.

It seems that both President Trump and Congressman Gianforte deem that those of us who pay appropriate income taxes are chumps or fools. These are men seeking to represent the citizens of the United States and the citizens of Montana. What does that say about our country and our state if its elected leaders think it’s fine to take advantage of the rest of us taxpayers?
