Women’s football clinic to support Charlo athletics
CHARLO- Vikings, Guts and Glitter Women’s Football Clinic will be held this year on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A $60 entry fee includes breakfast, lunch and a half day in the classroom learning about football from our great Viking coaches and players. The other half of the day will be spent on the field learning drills, pass plays and other games.
The fee also includes a 2017 Guts and Glitter tank top, prizes and awards.
A Viking Daycare camp for young children will also be offered. The camp will include fun and games provided by the Lady Vikings for $5 per child for the whole day.
Special guest Monte the bear, from the University of Montana, will also join moms this year for some drills and fun. Then he’ll meet with the kids at the camp for pictures, growth charts, autographs and more.
Entry forms can be picked up at Charlo Grocery or obtained by calling 260-8072. Completed forms and payment should be sent to PO Box 226, Ronan MT 59864.
“Please watch the videos of past years,” said event organizer Christy Bockman. “It’s a blast and you won’t regret coming.”
All proceeds go to Charlo Athletics. Register by Aug. 14 to guarantee your Guts and Glitter shirt.
Tennis camp held in Mission
ST. IGNATIUS — A tennis camp will be held July 24-28 from 7-8 p.m. at the St. Ignatius High School tennis courts. The purpose of this camp is to give kids the experience of fun on the tennis court while learning tennis skills, good form, groundstrokes, volleying, serving and learning to play matches. A tennis tournament will begin on July 29 at 9 a.m. This camp is for students entering grade 6-9. The cost for the camp is $10, but come in even if you don’t have the money. Call 406-273-8203 to register by Wednesday, July 19. Students are required to wear shorts with pockets and to bring a water bottle. Bring a racket if you have one, otherwise there are some that can be borrowed. Rackets from Walmart work just fine for beginners and having one offers incentive to continue playing at the courts after the camp.
