Lady Bulldogs get ‘running’ start, outscore opponents 54-9 in four games

ST. IGNATIUS – The Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC) Bulldogs’ softball team is off to a 4-0 start on the young 2017 season.
On Friday, the MAC crushed visiting Eureka 11-1 and 20-1 and then on Saturday slipped by the visiting Libby Loggers 4-3 and finished the weekend off by beating Troy 19-4.
The Bulldogs out-scored their opponents 54-9 during the four-game home stand.
During the double header with Eureka, Tomi Brazill went a combined 4 of 6 with 3 RBIs and Frankie Smith went a combined 3 of 7, with a double, a triple and 6 RBIs.
In the Troy game, Ran’Dee Charlo led the offense going 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 2 doubles. Haley Crawford was 2 for 2 with 3 RBIs and a double and Summer DarcAngelo was 2 of 3 with 3 RBIs.

Polson
On March 28, the Polson Lady Pirates lost their home opener to Big Sky 9-4. Kaelyn Smith and Laurel Bitterman each went 2 of 4. Bitterman also had a double and 2 RBIs.
On Saturday, Polson hosted Butte Central and Belgrade. The Lady Pirates beat Butte Central 9-2 and lost in the nightcap to Belgrade by the same score. Haley Fyant went 2 of 4 with 2 RBIs and Hannah Fryberger went 2 of 4 with 3 RBIs and a double during the Butte Central game.
