POLSON — Polson Middle School students in the Nicole Camel’s leadership class organized a food drive for the month of November, encouraging peers to bring non-perishable items to donate to the Loaves and Fishes food pantry in Polson.
Students promoted it through Polson News Network, the school newspaper and daily pep talks, resulting in a donation of thousands of items.
“It really got them fired up,” Camel said, with an added incentive of a pizza party reward.
“It was really neat to see kids give,” Camel said. “Coming up with 2,529 items is a huge effort to help those in need. They just really wanted to give.”
