The Polson Pirate volleyball team continues to make big strides in an already successful season after beating Dillon, 3-1, on the road and Stevensville at home, 3-2.
At Dillon, Shalaina Duford led the Pirates to the big win after collecting 44 assists, 26 digs and a pair of aces. Teammate Ashley Johnson also had a tremendous game, adding 15 kills, while Riley Kenney added a pair of aces.
The Pirates won the first game 25-21, with Dillon picking up the second match win, 25-21. Polson then won two big games, 25-12 and 25-14 to secure the win.
On Saturday, Polson hosted Stevensville at home, where the Pirates rallied to come from behind and win in a 3-2 thriller.
The Pirates came out strong, winning 25-15, before Stevensville challenged the Pirates with two straight wins, 30-28 and 25-23. With Stevensville one win away from securing the victory, the Pirates picked up wins of 25-15 and 15-9 to come away with the win.
Duford continued to lead the way, amassing 48 assists. Johnson contributed 17 kills, while Kenzie Clay added six aces. Teammate Mackenzie Banner dug deep to give Polson 23 digs.
Polson will travel to play Frenchtown on Thursday and is also away at Libby on Saturday.
