Community contributes $115,000 through the Mission Valley Aquatic Center “Fill the Pool Bowl by Bowl” fundraising event Nov. 10.
USMC Lance Corporal Tomy Parker completed his rehabilitation at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and drove home to Ronan Thursday evening, shortly after being honorably discharged from the Corps. Parker, a Ronan High School graduate, was injured by an IED on Dec. 10, 2010, while serving in Iraq. The community has supported Parker throughout his recovery, raising more than $70,000 in funds.
Ronan’s Parade of Lights lit up Main Street Tuesday, Dec. 18. Although the moon was nowhere to be found, floats filled with smiling children, laughter, cheer and good tidings illuminated the downtown as they made their way through Main Street toward Ronan City Park. A bonfire, hot chocolate and cookies awaited the jolly mob as it descended on the park with a brand of companionship, love and joy only found in Western Montana.
