MISSOULA – Chief Lucas Gebhardt nailed it for Ronan at Divisionals last weekend, taking first in both shot put and javelin. Gebhardt blasted the competition, throwing 173-3 in javelin and 49-1 in shot put.
Connor Benn cleared 12-6 for a second place finish in the pole vault and Daniel Koehler placed third in the 800 meter. Wrapping up in fourth was Bryce Cullen in the 110-hurdle event. The Chiefs placed sixth overall with a team score of 41.
For the Maidens, Ally Buhr and Lee Camel faired the best with both ladies taking second in their events. Both athletes grabbed silver as Buhr cleared 8-6 in the pole vault and Camel landed 16-4.5 in the long jump. Third place finishers include Camel (triple jump), Alex Dennis (100 hurdles), and Sydnee Clairmont (high jump). Coming in at the four spot was Clairmont (long jump), Buhr (high jump), Aspen Jore (shot put, javelin), and Kianna Howell (400 meter). The Maidens finished in fourth overall with a team score of 58.
Mission Bulldog Raymond Matt was the school’s lone qualifier for state, coming in sixth place in javelin.
The top six in each event advance to the State meet in Butte May 30-31.
