Arlee and Mission nail first places in cross-country

ARLEE – Arlee Scarlets and Mission Bulldogs have something to be smiling about, a first place trophy in fact. Arlee’s Warriors and Scarlets hosted Tuesday’s meet with teams from Mission, Eureka, Hot Springs, Deer Lodge, Seeley, Charlo, and Phillipsburg. 

Scarlets put up two top-six times with Jess Knoll finishing it up with a third place time of 23:06 and right behind in the fourth spot was Amelia North, 23:11. Warrior Isaac Desjarlais grabbed the third spot for the boys with a time of 18:54.

Mission’s Bulldogs came in strong with three in the top six. Bulldog Tate Weingart finished in the big number one spot with a personal best time of 18:30. Jamie Mullins crossed the line at fourth with 18:55 and sixth went to Andrew Esslinger with another person best, 19:17. Lady Bulldog Kaylie Durglo came in a close eighth with an honorable 23:54.

Charlo’s Dalton Delaney snagged second with a great run at 18:54 and Lady Bulldog Jordan Ludeman pulled ninth out of 21 for the girls with 23:58.

Next stop for the valley teams will be in Missoula, Sept. 28 to compete in the Mountain West Classic.
