ST. IGNATIUS — The recent theft and damages to the St Ignatius Senior Citizens Center meal delivery car brought forth offers of help from multiple sources. First, the Lower Flathead Valley Community Foundation donated a 15-passenger van, which will be by used seniors for various excursions. Then the center received two offers of cars specifically for meal deliveries. The center seniors are grateful for the offers from Dr. Evelyn Hobbs of St. Ignatius and Jackie and Lynn Bryant of Hamilton. The well- maintained 1990 Honda offered by the Bryants best fits the center’s needs. Jackie Bryant said she saw a story about the theft on television. The Bryants became familiar with the St. Ignatius Center as visiting foster grandparents. She said the people in the center have always been so nice and the meals were so delicious that she and her husband really like going there. “We decided that the center would be a good place for Goldie (the Honda) to spend the rest of her miles.” The center is also grateful to Stuart Morton who has offered to have some work done on the car.
Those coming to lunch on Friday, Sept. 27, are encouraged to wear sombreros and/or other Mexican regalia, as the center will have Mexican Day featuring Mexican food. Guitarists and singers Tim Krantz and Tom Kraug will entertain diners at the Wednesday, Oct. 16, evening meal. The public is invited to come to all of the center’s meals.
