MISSOULA — The Ronan-St. Ignatius boys came away the District 6-B champions after a weekend of tough competition at Missoula County Stadium. St. Ignatius distance leader Paden Alexander won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races, setting a new record for his school in the 1,600 with a time of 4:29.37. Alexander also finished second in the 800 and third in the 400 and anchored Ronan-St. Ignatius’ winning 1,600-meter relay team.
Other boys winning individual titles were Lucas Gerhardt (first in javelin and shot put); and Jalen Bell, who swept the jumping events, winning triple jump, high jump and long jump.
For the girls, the team of Kiana Howell, Lindsay Barber, Sydney Caster and Jessie Lewis won the 1,600-meter relay in 4:25.88, while Aspen Jore swept the throwing events (javelin, shot put and discus). The RSI girls were second overall at the district meet.
Ronan-St. Ignatius will compete in the divisional meet Friday and Saturday at Missoula County Stadium.
