ST. IGNATIUS – In a tightly-contested, four-set affair, the Mission High School Lady Bulldogs volleyball team’s postseason hopes ended in a 3-1 loss to the Thompson Falls Lady Bluehawks in the semifinals of the four-team District 7B championship on Saturday afternoon.
After Thompson Falls took the first two sets, 27-25, 25-16, the Lady Bulldogs came back to win the third set 25-19; however, the Lady Bluehawks sealed the postseason victory with a 25-17 win in the fourth set.
As a team, the Lady Bulldogs had 27 kills, 26 assists, 62 digs, seven blocks and floored 12 aces. In the consolation round against the Bigfork Valkyries, the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Valkyries in four sets 26-24, 25-13, 25-17, 25-23, picking up a third-place finish in the tournament. Against Bigfork, the Lady Bulldogs posted seven aces, eight blocks, 61 digs, 33 kills and 33 assists.
