A coroner’s inquest was held in Polson on April 29 for the death of Adriana Johnson, 17, of Charlo.
Johnson was killed June 2, 2018, after she pulled off U. S. Highway 93 south of Ronan. She attempted to make a U-turn in front of Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey White’s moving vehicle as he was responding to a report of a possible hostage situation in the St. Ignatius area. White was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when his patrol unit broadsided the Jeep Wrangler Johnson was driving. White and Johnson’s passenger were injured.
Heather Gregory, deputy coroner for Powell County, presided over the inquest. Of the 12 potential jurors called to participate, nine showed up and Gregory used them all. They determined that Johnson’s death was not caused by criminal means.
