ST. IGNATIUS — Parents as Teachers (PAT) program of the Lake County Public Health Department is sponsoring an infant and child CPR class at The Nest on Friday, April 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Ellen Kaphammer, RN, will teach CPR techniques and answer questions at this informal gathering. Space is limited, so participants must call 883-7209 to reserve a spot. The Nest is located at 410 St. Mary’s Drive in St. Ignatius.
The PAT program is a free, voluntary program that provides twice monthly home visits with age-appropriate activities for children from birth to age five; developmental screenings; and information and referrals to area resources. Women may be enrolled in the PAT program as soon as they are pregnant, which many moms-to-be and dads find to be very helpful, since babies don’t come with a manual. In addition to the home visits, monthly gatherings such as this one are open to all parents of young children ages 0-5.
