ST. IGNATIUS — A free Pre-New Year’s Eve Resolution Party open to all youth in grades 5-12 will take place Friday, Dec. 30, starting at 6 p.m. with food and games at CrossCollar Academy, 20 First Ave., St. Ignatius.
At 7 p.m., “Express to Speak,” presented by poet and performance artist Taj Bo Kjelland, will enhance teens’ and pre-teens’ ability to write and perform spontaneous poetry and spoken-word poetry (hip hop). This event is presented in partnership with Humanities Montana.
Other activities include games with Kim Spurzem, an art project “Express Yourself” with Anthony Yazzie, a photo booth plus snacks and dancing until curfew. Participants will receive a goodie bag, a free photo, and a few surprises.
The event is sponsored by Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition, a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing events promoting the broadest possible community acceptance of the multi-cultural nature of our community.
