News from the Mission Valley Ice Arena Association

POLSON — The Mission Valley Ice Arena Association has completed another successful summer, with some great prizes in local events, and funds raised toward our first goal of $25,000.

We need a treasurer. The duties are light, and our board members are there to help you learn the ropes.

We are selling tickets for a hunting rifle. Tickets can be found in Polson at Turnage, Mercer, and Wall law firm at 312 First St. E., as well as at Total Screen Design at 40735 Hwy. 35.

In addition to these locations, if you live south of the Polson area, look for Hunter Cordier and family, our St. Ignatius representatives, to buy your tickets.

Subcommittess are forming to work independently in Marketing and Public Relations, Fundraising, and Building Needs Assessment. The chair of each subcommittee will work with volunteers to schedule meetings and duties, and will report to our board at our monthly board meetings. Please email chairperson Hilary Lozar at hillozar@ gmail.com if you are interested in helping out with any of the three subcommittees. We rely on your help and energy to help us reach our goal of making the Mission Valley Ice Arena available to increase the opportunities for our friends and neighbors to stay healthy, active and happy.

As with any non-profit organization, we keep ourselves going with help from our invaluable volunteers. If you are interested in any of the duties mentioned above, email Hilary and we will put your names on our list. One of our founding donors, local business woman Carmine Mowbray, has generously donated $25,000 for us to use once we match that amount. We have several thousand already, and just need to keep the donations coming in, however and whenever able. To donate, please email hillozar@ gmail.com

We encourage you to continue to follow our progress and donate if possible before this tax year ends in order to take advantage of tax deductions. If you have already donated, and need our tax deductible EIN, please contact Lozar.

We couldn’t get this project underway without those who have helped so far, and those who plan to help in the future. Our sincerest thanks to you all.
