DICKINSON, N.D. — Jamie Mullins, a Mission High School graduate, has signed to wrestle with Dickinson State University. He will join the Blue Hawks as a freshman for the 2015-16 season.
Mullins had a very successful high school career. As a freshman he finished sixth at state, fifth as a sophomore, third as a junior and second as a senior. His senior year he also won the divisional championship.
"I chose DSU because it is very open and welcoming. The campus looks great and they have a broad range of degrees to offer,” Mullins said. “Above all, the wrestling team is tough and competitive, and I can't wait to join the team."
Mullins is the son of Tom and Kathy Mullins and enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time. Mullins also played football, tennis and baseball in high school and ran cross country.
He plans to study Environmental Science while attending Dickinson.
"Jamie will be a great addition to the DSU wrestling team," Dickinson State University head wresting coach Justin Schlecht said.
“He is a great student in the classroom and a great athlete on the wrestling mat. Jamie is a hardworking individual that will work hard to be the best Blue Hawk that he can be. Jamie's passion for the sport and knowledge of the sport will be another continued addition to the Blue Hawk wrestling team."
