Divers recover kayaker from Flathead Lake

LAKESIDE — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man who died in a kayaking accident. Nicholas Lockwood, 29, of Somers, was reported missing in Flathead Lake on Tuesday, Aug. 10, after his kayak flipped near West Shore Park, according to a preliminary investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.  “It is believed the cause of death is drowning and the deceased has been sent to the Montana State Forensic Lab for further investigation,” Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said.  The investigation found that Lockwood was “with another kayaker when they encountered rough water” and neither kayaker was wearing a life ...
