Democrats to meet
POLSON — Lake County Democrats will hold a business meeting Wednesday, Jan. 20, to discuss issues regarding the upcoming 2016 election. Density hearing set for Jan. 20
POLSON — The Lake County Commissioners will hold a hearing regarding the density map and regulations on Jan. 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Office, room 211, in the County Courthouse, 106 Fourth Ave. E. The meeting was rescheduled from Dec. 17.

CASA presentation given at Kiwanis meeting
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meet the first and third Thursdays of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 p.m. Our speaker on Jan. 21 will be Ann Marie McNeel, Director from CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
The advocates are the “voice” for abused and neglected children in the court system. Come and listen; you may decide you would like to volunteer as an advocate for CASA.
Polson Physical Therapy celebrates with SPLASH

Sixteenth ‘Black Tie’ dinner on tap
NINEPIPE – Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana will hold their 16th annual Black Tie Dinner on Thursday, Jan. 21, starting at 5 p.m. A complimentary museum visit and a no-host social for friends to meet and visit before the main event will take place at Ninepipes. Dinner will start at 7 p.m. with our guest speaker, noted historian and author Ellen Baumler. Baumler is author of “Girl from the Gulches: The Story of Mary Ronan.” The evening’s topic is titled, “Ripples in a Pond: The Ronan Family Legacy.” Cathy Gillhouse will feature two students from her new venture, the Mission Valley Children’s Choir. Celebrate two Kings at museum
POLSON — Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, Polson, has moved their free “Night At The Museum” to the fourth Thursday evening of each month.
The Jan. 28 program, “A Pair Of Kings,” will celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King by examining collectables in the Black History display and sharing some of his important quotes. We extend a special welcome to school students who may have taken part in the various MLK essay contests around the valley and wish to share their essays. To conclude the evening, we will celebrate the birthday of the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, by watching “Jailhouse Rock.” Programs start at 6:30 p.m. Treats and donations accepted. Caregivers sessions given through Feb. 18
POLSON — "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" is a six-session, 90-minutes weekly series of classes designed to help caregivers with the many physical, social, and emotional challenges they face. It is well-known that very often caregivers become ill or even die before the person they are caring for, simply because they ignore their own needs. Two facilitators who have been caregivers themselves lead these sessions. Classes are planned in Polson on Thursdays, Jan. 14-Feb. 18, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Providence St. Joseph Hospital. The regular fee is $50, however we can charge on a sliding scale based on income. There is also funding available to reimburse those who want to pay for respite care for their loved one so they can attend the classes. Lions Club changes meeting venue
POLSON — On Monday, Feb. 1, the Lions Club will meet at 6 p.m. at the Lake Bar and Grill, 101 Main Street (no longer at the Driftwood). Dennis DeVries will make a presentation of the Great Bear Foundation Program from the Northern Studies Center. There will be many pictures and good stories. All are welcome. This is a free event.

RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold its regular meeting on Feb. 2 at the Terrace Lake Community Church.
