Gubernatorial candidate to attend Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — Our next Pachyderm meeting will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at noon at the Polson Rural Fire Station. Our guest speaker for this meeting will be Montana Gubernatorial candidate Tanner Smith who is from Lakeside.
Port Polson Players brings “Bus Stop” to the theatre
POLSON — Port Polson Players in association with Mission Valley Friends of the Arts present William Inges’ classic comedy, “Bus Stop,” to kick off the Players’ 49th season of live theatre. Bus Stop also kicks off for the Mission Valley Friends of the Arts annual membership drive. An all-star cast of favorite Mission Valley performers brings this classic piece of theatre to the stage. Nominated for four Tony Awards, Bus Stop was later made as a film starring Marilyn Monroe and Don Murray.
Bus Stop runs two weekends, Nov. 10, 11, 12 and Nov. 17, 18, 19. Curtain times are 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Veteran’s Day Holiday Bazaar held in Ronan
RONAN — From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center, more than twenty arts and crafts vendors from locally and Missoula to Kalispell will display their wares for buyers and curiosity seekers.
Since Nov. 11 is Veteran’s Day, the club will honor all veterans who have served our country with a special flag presentation that will open the Holiday Bazaar beginning at 9:30 a.m. In addition to the flag presentation, a space has been set aside on the vendor floor to recognize our POWs for their dedication to our country.
Attendees of the event will also have the opportunity to enjoy a lunch of Fry Bread and/or Indian Tacos while perusing the goods on display and bidding on silent auction items that have been generously donated by area merchants.

POLSON — Mission Mountain Empowerment will hold a Western Shindig on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the Red Lion Inn. There will be a silent auction, entertainment, and dancing for a $25 admission fee (age: 21+ only). Hors d’oeuvres and refreshment included. Youth trapping skills class scheduled in Kalispell
KALISPELL — A free youth trapping skills course in Kalispell is open to registration. This course is part of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ outdoor skills program. The class in Kalispell will focus on basic leghold and snare trapping for coyotes, fox, raccoons. Certified trapper education instructors will teach the course. The course is geared toward youth, and parents/guardians are invited to participate as well.
The course is scheduled for Nov. 11-12, 2023, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The class will start at the FWP Region 1 office, 490 N. Meridian, on Nov. 11. Most of the class will be outdoors and students should dress for cold weather.

Mission Valley Band Festival held in Ronan
RONAN — It’s that time of year again. The Mission Valley Band Festival takes place Nov. 14 in Ronan. 165 students from Noxon, Thompson Falls, Plains, St. Regis, Superior, and Charlo will join together to make beautiful music. They will rehearse in two groups all day, a concert band and a percussion ensemble. The final concert will be at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 14 in the Ronan Performing Arts Center. Come see this diverse array of young area musicians play.

November date for large book-movie donations at library
POLSON — The Friends of the Library group has generously offered to take on our book and movie donation program. Starting now, we will accept encyclopedias that are 40 years old or older and textbooks. Condition rules still apply. There is no longer a limit to how many donations the library can take.
However, if you are planning to bring more than three boxes of materials for donation, please contact us ahead of time so we can make arrangements. If you have a large donation, we would appreciate it if you would drop off during the afternoon on Nov. 17 at the temporary location, 301 16th Ave. E (First United Methodist Church).
Polson Climate Cafe offers great climate discussion venue

POLSON — Anyone affected by cancer will gain understanding of others, inspire and support others or just find a safe place to share or listen when attending the Cheerful Heart Cancer Support Group. The group meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month in the Chapel at St. Joseph Medical Center. The group is led by Pastor Matthew Connally of the Ronan/Polson Nazarene Church.
