Cutthroat Volleyball tryouts, registration to begin
POLSON — Tryouts for the 2023 Cutthroat Volleyball season will take place at the Polson Boys & Girls Club, 110 17th Ave. W for 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 &18 from 13 year old students.
Please bring a water bottle, knee pads (if you have them), and athletic shoes for tryouts.

Join Doug for an evening of rhythm, fun
Join Doug Ruhman for an evening of rhythm and fun at the Western Montana Musician Cooperative from 7-9 p.m. at the Red Poppy Building, 1 Eisenhower St SW in Ronan. We are open to all drummers, percussionists and lovers of rhythm. Come join in on some beats. All percussion is welcome, including hand drums, kit players, etc. Several drums will be available on site, but feel free to bring your own. We are a member-based, member-funded cooperative. The monthly Drum Circle is free, however, for non-members donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated.

Free Restorative Foot Clinic held
POLSON — Bonnie Mueller will provide a Restorative Foot Clinic on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 11:30 a.m. at Mission Fitness, 805 Seventh St. E. This free one-hour clinic is offered to members and non-members on the third Thursday of each month. Please call 406-253-1682 if you plan to attend.
Grazing, Ag Conference held
MISSOULA — Conflux Brewing, 210 Pattee St. in Missoula, will be the site for the 2023 Western Montana Grazing and Agriculture Conference on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 19 and 20. Registration is $50. There is a block of rooms available at the Doubletree.

Bluegrass Open Jam
A Bluegrass Open Jam will be held at the Western Montana Musicians Cooperative from 7-9 p.m. at the Red Poppy Building, 1 Eisenhower St. SW in Ronan. This event is hosted by Lydia Conway. A bluegrass jam is completely unplugged. We play going around the circle, taking turns choosing songs and tunes. Come ready to lead songs if comfortable, or just strum/hum along. ‘Sorry Bout That’ Half Marathon, Team Relay on tap
POLSON — Polson Running will hold their ‘Sorry Bout That Half Marathon and Team Relay” on Saturday, Jan. 21 starting at 309 Ridgewater Dr. The course will be clockwise this year. If you wear a costume you get a .30 second head start. Packet pickup is the same day only. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The race starts at 11 a.m. and awards are given out at 2 p.m.

ZOOM — Montana folks can learn about Montana fiber at a ZOOM presentation by Barbara French and Helen Harris of the Montana Fibershed on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. Like a watershed, which defines a catchment and drainage area for a given landscape, a “fibershed” is a geographically-defined area in which natural fiber resources are produced and then used by the people living within its boundaries. Annual Awards Banquet held
POLSON — “Moonlight Over Polson, a Roaring Good Time” is the theme for the annual Awards Banquet scheduled for Jan. 28 at the KwaTaqNuk Resort.
Social hour begins at 6 p.m., dinner is a 7 p.m. and the awards program starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $50 per person. Attire from the 1920s is encouraged.

‘Shiver in the River’ plunge takes place
POLSON — This Law Enforcement signature event is a unique opportunity for individuals, clubs, organizations and schools to support local Special Olympics Montana athletes by jumping, running or slowly crawling into the frigid and icy waters of Montana.

The event have grown to 13 different plunges held all over the state with over 11,000 participants raising more than $350,000 annually for Special Olympics Montana.

Sandpiper Art Gallery calling for art
POLSON — Sandpiper Art Gallery’s first art show of 2023 opens on Feb. 1, 2023, and runs through March 17. It is a non-juried open show for all area residents and we would love to show your art.
All participants can show three to five art pieces. For non-members of the Gallery, the cost is $20 (members, no charge).
All art needs to be delivered to the Sandpipe Art Gallery by Jan. 29, 2023.
