RONAN — Friday begins with 8:30 a.m. judge’s orientation; sheep and beef breeding at 9 a.m.; 11:30 a.m. rabbit showmanship and judging. Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their show at 10 a.m. The Lake County Fair has a new addition to the schedule with a 4-H project costume competition at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon. It should be entertaining for the participants and spectators alike. The day ends with a 5-7:30 p.m. 4-H open class talent show; 7:30 beef showmanship; 9-11 p.m. 4-H Ambassador’s Dance.

RONAN — The large animal round robin is at 10 a.m. and the small animal round robin is at 11:30 a.m. The Lake County Fair will have the first ever ranch rodeo. It begins at 1 p.m. The small-fry stock show and ranch rodeo dinner and awards are at 5 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. there will be an arena dance to the band Exit 53 from Billings.

RONAN — The Lake County Fair will have an MBHA barrel race from noon-4 p.m. and breakaway roping for the ladies will follow.

RONAN — Stall cleaning will take place at the Lake County Fair Grounds from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, and Tuesday, Aug. 2.

RONAN — The Ronan City Council will meet at Ronan City Hall on Monday, Aug. 1, from 6-7 p.m.

RONAN — The Ronan High School class of 1956 will meet at the pavilion at Ronan City Park on Friday, Aug. 5, from 5-8 p.m. We invite graduates from all classes to join us. Food will be provided. RONAN — The annual Kids’ Fishing Derby will be held Friday, Aug. 5 from 8 a.m. to noon in the covered pavilion of Bockman Park in Ronan. The Derby is held in conjunction with Pioneer Days. About 300 rainbow trout from Creston Fish Hatchery are donated by the tribes and planted into Spring Creek, with an additional 100 placed in tanks provided by Westland Seed. Children 7 years old and younger may fish the tanks.

RONAN — The Ronan class of 1976 will celebrate their 40-year class reunion on Saturday, Aug 6. The event will be held at Ninepipes Lodge starting at 4 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. RONAN — A free car show will take place south of Glacier Bank in Ronan on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Call 406-676- 3961 with any questions.

RONAN — Volunteers are doing their best to keep the Garden of the Rockies Museum up and running, but need more help. A fundraising Flea Market, Craft Fair and Yard Sale has been held twice this summer, and the next one is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Round Butte Gym across from the VFW.

Vendors are needed. The event is perfect for anyone with yard sale items to sell, or crafts, baked goods, candy, garden products, furniture and plants. Those who have a home-based business are also welcome. The cost of renting a space supports the museum. Ten-foot spaces are available inside and out for $10. RONAN — A Jewelry Sale Fundraiser to benefit Mission Valley Senior Citizens Inc., will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at Garden of the Rockies Museum Flea Market, Round Butte Road. Old and new jewelry donations are accepted at MVSC, 528 Main Street, SW. Call 406-676-2371, for more information.

RONAN — The Ronan High School class of 1951 will gather to visit and socialize at the Garden of the Rockies Museum on Round Butte Road on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 2:30 p.m. Don’t miss this reunion.

RONAN — The Flathead Irrigation District will hold a meeting on Monday, Aug. 8, from 1-3 p.m. at 407 Main Street SW. Please go upstairs.

RONAN — Sports physicals for the 2016-17 school year will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the Ronan Events Center commons area. You must have a sports physical to participate in middle or high school athletics. There will be a $25 charge with multiple doctor and nurse stations provided by St. Luke Community Health. Movies will be available to watch while you wait.

POLSON — Come learn and earn $20 worth of Fresh SNAP Double Dollars to be spent on locally grown produce at the Polson Farmer’s Market. All are welcome, including children, but only SNAP recipients will receive market credit. Learn to make jam with less sugar from 2-4 p.m. at 701 B First Street E. RONAN — The VFW Auxiliary 5652 is having their meeting on Aug. 10 at the VFW Hall in Ronan at 6:30 p.m. New members are welcome. Call 406-676-3380 for additional information.

RONAN — On Thursday, Aug. 11, Mission Valley Senior Center will hold their “Night Out” dinner. A chicken dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. for $5.
