Learn Dutch oven cooking - Date change
RONAN — (note date change) The Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee is hosting their second annual Dutch Oven Cooking Class and Dutch Oven Cook Off. Join us June 10 at the Ronan Visitor Center on Highway 93 for the Dutch Oven Cooking Class. Cost for the class is $10, which covers the cost of supplies. The class begins at 9:30 a.m. Put your Dutch Oven cooking skills to use at our Dutch Oven Cook Off during the Harvest Festival in Ronan on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. Boys and Girls Club starts in Ronan, Polson
LAKE COUNTY — The Flathead Reservation and Lake County Boys and Girls Club will operate a summer program at both their Polson and Ronan sites Monday-Friday (not July 4) from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. The cost is $25 per month or $75 for the entire summer program, which runs June 12-Aug. 18. The summer program focuses on academics, good character and citizenship and developing healthy lifestyles. Applications may be picked up onsite or at: www.flatheadbgc. org.
RMS begins food program
RONAN — Ronan Middle School will serve kid friendly meals for lunch and breakfast Monday-Friday (excluding July 4th) from June 12-Aug. 18. Breakfast will be served from 8:15- 10:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. There is no cost to all children 18 years old and younger or for special needs children to age 21. Volunteer at carnival
RONAN — Still seeking a few additional volunteers for the Carnival on June 24, at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Need people to assist with the different booths, taking tickets etc. Looking for assistance between noon-5:30 p.m. Even an hour would help us with the event. Bring ‘crackers and picks’ to Chamber Crab Fest
RONAN — The Chamber Crab Fest will take place June 23, in the City Park, weather permitting. The Chamber gets so many requests for this event that they have decided to make it an annual event. It is an all you can eat event with lots of other foods to go with it. You need to bring your own crackers, picks and alcoholic drinks, if you wish. There will be beverages available for purchase.
Tickets are $35 per person or $10 for those under 10-years-old and may be purchased at Access Montana, Glacier Bank, Ronan Flower Mill, Polson First Interstate Bank, Valley Bank, and Ronan Power Products. Don’t miss the duck races and new this year is a silent auction fundraiser to help save the Ronan Main Street Arch. It is always lots of fun and good food. For tickets call 406-676-8300.
Mission Valley Rises: holds meeting
Ronan — A meeting of non-partisan community members will take place on Friday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Safe Harbor office, 63506 Highway 93, Ronan (on the corner of Eisenhower St. and Highway 93). Everyone is welcome to come to the meeting of this community-led group that has now merged with the Mission Mountain Community Power group. Please join us as we explore effective ways to address issues that impact residents of the Mission Valley through sharing of information and positive action. We are currently planning a forum addressing the local impacts of the proposed national health care reform legislation.
