Learn about Back Country Horsemen
RONAN – Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ronan VFW. Connie Long will give a Power Point presentation about what the Back Country Horsemen is all about. Hope to see you there.
Quilt Guild plans busy meeting
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will have its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Terrace Lake Community Church. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. and the meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.; everyone is welcome. We will vote on the theme for the 2017 Quilt Show, so please bring your ideas to share. Please be sure and bring your TLC block from the last meeting and any Show and Tell items. We look forward to seeing them. ‘Smart Driver’ course taught in Ronan

Learn to loom knit
RONAN — Ronan Library will be holding classes for loom knitting on Thursday, Nov. 5, and Thursday, Nov. 12.
Drop in any time between noon-6 p.m. A teacher will help you from 3:30-6 p.m. Feel free to bring your own loom and yarn if you wish.

Public invited to celebrate 40 years
RONAN — The public is invited to celebrate Mission Mountain Enterprises’ 40th anniversary at an open house Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Ronan Community Center from 4-7 p.m. A program begins at 5 p.m. and refreshments will be available.

Blood drive held in Ronan

Dates for ‘The Painted Drum’ book chat set
RONAN — Ninepipes of Early Montana History will sponsor a ‘Book Chat’ this fall at the Ronan District Library on Main Street starting on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. On the first evening we will discuss pages 1-65 of “The Painted Drum” by Louise Eldridge. Discussions about the rest of the book will follow on consecutive Tuesdays: Nov. 17, Nov. 24 and Dec. 1. Call the museum at 406-644-3435 for the discussion questions. If you do not have access to the book, some new and used copies will be available for purchase. Donna Cheff and Michelle Fenger will lead this chat. Snacks will be provided. Another book chat will take place in the spring.
Respite training at Ronan Senior Center
RONAN — The Lake County Council on Aging offers respite services for caregivers over the age of 60. This provides temporary relief and rest from caring for their loved ones. This service helps support family and informal caregivers to remain healthy so they can continue being caregivers. On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Lake County Council on Aging will present ‘Respite Training’ from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Mission Valley Senior Center at 528 Main Street, SW.
Valley talent showcased
RONAN — The Mission Valley Concert Band and Percussion Festival will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. The free concert is open to the public and showcases more than 120 students from Ronan, Charlo, St. Ignatius, St. Regis, Thompson Falls, Noxon, Plains and Arlee.

Auxiliary schedules meeting

Chinook Winds quintet to perform
RONAN — On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Mission Valley Live will present the wind quintet Chinook Winds at the Ronan Community Center at 7 p.m. Quintet members are principal players in the Great Falls Symphony Orchestra, as well as present chamber music throughout Montana. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the following locations: Ronan R&R Health Care Solutions; Ronan True Value; Polson’s First Interstate Bank; and The Vine and Tap on Main Street in Polson. Youth 18 and under are free. Adults must accompany children under the age of 12.
Taps played at gravesite
RONAN – Taps will sound at the LaVerne Parrish Medal of Honor gravesite in Ronan cemetery at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2015, to honor all veterans past and present.
