RONAN — Pastor Seth Nelson of Faith Lutheran Church will offer a free, three-week course entitled “Martin Luther and his Legacy.” The course will cover the history of Martin Luther’s life and work and the reformation movement, which he started. The courses will be held on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in the basement, (Fellowship Hall), of Faith Lutheran Church on Oct. 9, 16 and 23. These courses are free to the public and all are welcome. RONAN — USDA Farm Service Agency, in partnership with the USDA Risk Management Agency and Montana State University will host an informational meeting on Friday, Oct. 17, from 8 a.m.- noon, at the Ronan Community Center, 300 Third Ave., NW. The meeting will cover important new from the Agricultural Act of 2014: price loss coverage; agricultural risk coverage programs; supplemental coverage option. Questions will also be accepted at the door if they are submitted by 6:30 p.m. 

RONAN — At 1 p.m. on Oct. 19 the Entertainer Cinema will show the Native American film, “Dakota,” where 38 riders retrace the 330-mile route from Lower Brule, South Dakota to Mankato, Minn. on the anniversary of the largest mass execution in US history.

RONAN — The Lake County Public Health Department will be offering flu shots to the public at Ronan Senior Center on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 1– 2:30 p.m. The cost is $25. Seniors, please remember to bring your Medicare Part B coverage cards as that will pay for your flu shot.

You may also get your flu shot at our walk-in immunization clinic held every Tuesday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. or you may call and schedule an appointment. The Lake County Public Health Department is located at 802 Main Street in Polson. Call (406) 883-7288, with your questions.

RONAN — At 1 p.m. on Oct. 25, the Entertainer Cinema will show the Native American film, “Winter in the Blood.” This film is based on the novel by James Welch and filmed on the Hi-Line in northern Montana. It tells the story of a man on a modern-day vision quest who recovers his true identity, renewing the bond between himself and the land and makes peace with the winter ghosts that haunt him. RONAN — Friends of Ronan Parks and Trails will host a pig roast on Saturday, Oct. 25, to support the “Playing it Forward” woodlands play project. The project will provide culturally relevant, interactive play gear in Bockman Park. The roast begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m. A $5 donation is requested for the pig roast, live music and other activities.
