RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their annual Octoberfest on Oct. 2, at the Ronan VFW starting at 6:30 p.m. This event is a potluck. After the potluck there will be a short club meeting. We hope to recruit new members who enjoy all types of horse related activities and comradeship. Hope to see you there.

RONAN — Dylan has been a huge asset to the Ronan Library and our community. He is leaving us to pursue wonderful adventures. Stop by the library to say, “See you another time,” on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Snacks will be available between the hours of 2-5:00 p.m.

RONAN — A market facilitation program meeting for Lake County producers is set for Oct. 4 The Lake County USDA Farm Service Agency will host an informational meeting on the Market Facilitation Program on Oct. 4, 2018, from 1-4 p.m. in the Ronan USDA Service Center conference room, 64352 US Highway 93 in Ronan. FSA staff will provide an overview of the program and discuss eligibility and documentation requirements.

RONAN — Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition fifth annual free film series at the Entertainer Theatre in Ronan begins with their first film at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult. Skinwalkers is the PBS adaptation of the Tony Hillerman novel with Wes Studi and Adam Beach as detectives solving crimes among the Navajo. Western Native Vote will register voters from noon-1 p.m.

RONAN — The Ronan Library District will be closed the second Tuesday of the month for our monthly staff work day (normally held on the third Tuesday of the month).

RONAN — Lake County Community Development Corporation will hold its annual board meeting on Oct. 10, from 3-5 p.m. at LCCDC, 407 Main St.

RONAN — The Ronan VFW Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall.

RONAN — The Flathead Irrigation District’s monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at the Lake County Community Development Center, (407 Main Street SW), in the small conference room. Please note this is on Wednesday.

RONAN — Lake County Democrats and the Lake County Republican Women are co-hosting a candidate forum at the Ronan Community Center on Wednesday, Oct. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. with a meet and greet. Refreshments will be provided. Local candidates for county commissioner, house and judicial districts will be in attendance. The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Submit questions you'd like to hear candidates respond to, to: summer@valleyjournal. net or drop them off at the Valley Journal office, 331 Main Street, Ronan by Oct. 8.

RONAN — Five to six people are needed to help unpack and organize playground equipment in preparation for the work day to build the playground scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12, at the new Boys and Girls Club location in Ronan (previously Total Home).

RONAN — On Friday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., volunteers are needed to help the Boys and Girls Club build a playground at the new club location (previously Total Home). All skill levels are welcome and needed. Please bring cordless tools, shovels, rakes, etc. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

RONAN — The Entertainer Theatre is the site for the second movie of the annual Indigenous film series. Set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, Neither Wolf Nor Dog tells of author Christopher Sweeney who recounts his travels with Indian elder Dave Bald Eagle through the heart of Lakota country. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult.

RONAN — The Lake County Republican Central Committee and the Republican Women’s Club invite supporters to the annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner to be held Oct. 14 from 1-4 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Keynote speaker for evening will be Greg Gianforte and a silent auction will follow. Tickets cost $25 and include a harvest buffet meal by Vista Linda.
