Polson Country Club to host MSU Scholarship Golf Scramble
POLSON — The “MSU (Bobcat) Scholarship Golf Scramble” and barbecue is Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Polson Golf Club. Golf begins at 12:30 p.m.; with the refreshments and barbecue scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Hosts include MSU President Cruzado, dignitaries and coaches. Skate Jam on tap in Polson
POLSON — The Polson Skate Jam is Aug. 3 at noon, at the Seventh Avenue Skate Park. Prizes are awarded for trick and bowl skating contests. Skaters of all ability levels may participate. Swimming race begins ‘Water Daze”
POLSON — Celebrate the opening of the Mission Valley’s Aquatic Center at the 11th annual “Water Daze” event Saturday, Aug. 3, with a one-mile swim race at Boettcher Park beginning at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 if pre-registered and $25 the day of the event. There will be lots of fun activities for the kids including a huge water slide and a barbecue. Polson Foursquare Church hosts Vacation Bible School

POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us at noon for our August general meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. The cost is $10.50. Our featured speaker will be Matt Seeley, race director of the Polson Triathlon.

Cruisen by the bay
POLSON — Cruisen by the Bay events begin Friday, Aug. 9 and continue through Saturday, Aug. 11. Friday registration takes place at the Walmart parking lot. The actual car show continues on Main Street Saturday. Events include a “Poker Run” and “cruise” on Main Street Friday afternoon and evening. The car show continues Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. when awards are given out. That evening a free concert is at Riverside Park.
Free dinner offered at Presbyterian Church
POLSON — A free dinner at Polson Presbyterian Church, across from Linderman School, will take place on Aug. 9 from 5-7 p.m. This “Friendship Table Dinner” is free and open to all.

Sixty-year class reunion held at Polson Elks Lodge
POLSON — A 60-year class reunion for 1953 Polson High School classmates is being planned for Saturday, August 10. Social time will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $20 for singles and $40 for couples. The Elks will provide a no-host bar. ‘Herbal 911’ gathering held at library
POLSON — The next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs Group” will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. at the North Lake County Public Library meeting room, 2 First Ave., E. (use the east side door).
Our topic for the evening will be “Herbal 911.” Learn which herbs you need to have in your home and how to use them when you have a health issue.
We will also discuss harvesting herbs, saving seeds, and storage of herbs. Bring your questions for discussion.

POLSON — The Polson Rural Fire District trustees’ monthly meeting is Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Polson Fairgrounds Station. All residents of the Polson Rural Fire District and are encouraged to attend. Any member of the public wishing to submit items for Board review/consideration needs to submit them to the board clerk at least ten days in advance of the meeting. POLSON — A tour of the Bibler home and gardens near Kalispell is Thursday, Aug. 15. We travel up Flathead Lake’s west shore to the Bibler home and their five acres of manicured gardens. En route home via the east shore, we’ll lunch at an historic restaurant. Departure times from Community Bank branch parking lots are: Ronan-8 a.m. and Polson-8:30 a.m. We return at 3:30 p.m. The cost for Community Bank Customers is $75 and for guests $90.
