POLSON — On Wednesday, Aug. 2, members of the Polson Chamber of Commerce will hear from Paddy Fleming, Director of the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, whose goal is to help Montana manufacturers succeed. The luncheon will be held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort from noon-1 pm. Cost of the luncheon will be $11. Reservations for the luncheon are not required. POLSON — Join us for “Music in the Park”, a fun, family event at Boettcher Park, from 7-8:30 p.m. “Harvest Sound,” a musician group traveling through Montana will play music. This event is sponsored by Mountain Song Church. There will be free snacks and water, face-painting, personalized songs, and a free concert.

POLSON — The 15th Annual Water Daze 1-Mile Swim will take place on Saturday, Aug. 5. Swim from Salish Point, through the pristine waters of Flathead Lake, to Boettcher Park with the backdrop of the Mission Mountains. Registration will open from 11 a.m. to noon with a 1 p.m. start time. Swimmers will be provided transportation to KwaTaq- Nuk from Boettcher about 30 minutes prior to the start of the race. Local kayakers and emergency personnel will be along the racecourse for safety and support. Since the beginning, Water Daze has been an essential part of the Mission Valley Aquatic’s mission, outreach and fundraising campaign. There is beautiful scenery, clear water, great food and friends — all in support of the Lake Monsters Swim Team and Mission Valley Aquatics. See you there.

POLSON — The Northwest Montana Accordion Association will meet at the Elks in Polson on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 2-5:30 p.m.

POLSON — Aug. 8 is the first day for the caregivers’ class. Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes are scheduled for six Tuesdays, Aug. 8- Sept. 12 in Polson. Time for the class is 10-11:30 a.m. The classes are sponsored by the Area VI Agency on Aging to help caregivers thrive in this most difficult life role. POLSON — The Polson School Indian Education Committee has cancelled the Native culture activity planned for Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. This activity will be rescheduled at a later date. POLSON — A clay tile making event will take place in Polson on Aug. 10 from 4-7 p.m. at Riverside Park. Tiles are being made for the Riverside Community Mosaic Project. Families welcome. First come, first served, while supplies last.

POLSON — A free dinner will be served at Polson Presbyterian Church on Friday, Aug. 11, from 5-6:30 p.m. Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.

POLSON — The University of Montana Improving Health Among Rural Montanans will be conducting health screenings from 9 a.m.- 2.p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, at Lakeshore Pharmacy, (inside Super 1 Foods, Polson). IPHARM will offer the following health screenings: bone density, hgA1c (blood glucose), cholesterol (this test requires a 9-12 hour fast for complete results; but please drink plenty of water). POLSON — Day one of Polson’s Summerfest is Friday, Aug. 11. There will be numerous activities in the park and on the water.

POLSON — The 11th annual Rotary Chili Cookoff will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, from noon-2 p.m. at Riverside Park. Make sure you purchase your raffle tickets, ($25 per ticket or 5 tickets for $100), to help raise funds for the Boys Scouts’ Summer Camp; the Mission Valley Aquatic Center’s bleachers, youth pool toys; and the Linderman Elementary summer program. Prizes this year include: $1000 cash, groceries and gas ($1000 total value), more than 100 bottles of wine, 2 annual golf passes, $1000 worth of local beef, and a flight seeing trip and dinner for four. POLSON — The Aber Day Reunion Concert will take place at the Regatta Shoreline Amphitheater on the banks of the Flathead River in Polson from 3-9 p.m. Mission Mountain Wood Band, Sam Riddle, Andrea Harsell and Luna Roja will provide the music. This event is family friendly with food, beer and wine vendors on site; free parking; dry camping available, (no animals except service dogs); no coolers or glass containers; bring lawn chairs and blankets. Bus pickup at various locations to be announced. This is a non-profit event with proceeds distributed to area non-profits by Anderson Broadcasting Charitable Foundation. POLSON — Day two of Polson’s Summerfest, Saturday, Aug. 12, includes a car show and The 46th Annual Sandpiper Art Festival on the Lake County Courthouse lawn from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Artists and artisans from around the region sell their work in this 1-day show.
