Join Polson Community Dance
POLSON — Join us for a night of dancing on Wednesday, June 20, from 7-10 p.m. at the Elks in Polson, on Main Street. Enjoy dancing to the band of Ken’s Combo, playing country classic, music from the '50s, '60s and '70s, and soft rock. There is a little bit of everything: waltz, one-step, two-step, cha-cha, or whatever you would like to do. This is a community dance and everyone is welcome. You do not have to be an Elk member to attend. Dress is casual. We would love to see some young dancers come and have some fun with us too. If you don’t know how to dance there are enough of us that can help you learn. It really is fun. The third Wednesday of each month is our Birthday dance where we have cake to celebrate everyone’s birthday in that month. Cover charge is $5 per person. Drinks, and soft drinks are available for purchase at the bar and water and coffee are free. We break for free snacks from 8:30-9 p.m.
JV Mariners to play Missoula B at home

‘Living Dinosaurs’ presentation offered at library
POLSON — North Lake County Public Library is hosting a free Thursday morning program from 10–11 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome. Programs emphasize Science, Technology, Engineering and Math principles. On Thursday, June 21, Allen Bone from the Audubon Society will be giving a presentation on “Living Dinosaurs.” Call 406-883- 8225 for more information.

POLSON — Sponsor of the June SPLASH (Support Late Afternoon Social Hour) is St. Luke Community Healthcare. The event will be held on Thursday, June 21, from 5-7:00 p.m. at St. Luke Community Clinic.

POLSON — A reception for a Members Only Open Show entitled, “Let Me Tell You My Story,” will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 22, at the Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery, 306 Main Street.
Enjoy NRA Rodeo, life music, beer garden
POLSON – The Mission Mountain NRA Rodeo will be held at the Polson Fairgrounds, 320 Regatta Road, June 22-23. Youth events including mutton bustin’ and mini bull riding begin at 6:30 p.m. NRA Rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m. NRA events include bareback, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, team roping, tie down toping, ladies and youth breakaway roping and bull riding. Tickets are $10/adult, $5/children under 12 and available at gate, no pre-sale tickets. Food, beverage and beer garden concessions available. Live music is planned after Friday night’s performance. Raceway open for family fun
POLSON — Saturday racing at Mission Valley Raceway will have Hobbys, Hornets, Big Sky West Coast late models and Thunderstocks. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. Qualifying time trials are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. General admission is $10; juniors ages 8-17 are $7. Kids 7 and under are free. Come have some fun. Activities planned for parents, young children
POLSON — Join the Parents as Teacher Home Visitors as we partner with Youth Services Librarian Kendra during the North Lake County Public Library’s Mother Goose Story Hour at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 25. The theme will be colors and shapes. We’ll have activities, treats, and, of course, Kendra will read us fun books on the topics. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. This is a good chance to meet other families with young children, and to learn more about the Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program. We’ll have a drawing for a door prize, and we often give out free books to the children in attendance. Library hosts UofM professor
POLSON — “Antarctic Freshwater Lakes in the World’s Coldest Desert” by Shawn Devlin will be the next educational program of the Mission Mountain Audubon Society on Tuesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. in the Polson library meeting room. Everyone is welcome. Shawn will introduce us to the vibrant benthic oasis of freshwater lakes in the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica. The coldest desert in the world doesn’t sound like a place you might go to study lakes, but that is exactly the place to find some of the most amazing benthic algae in the world. Dr. Shawn Devlin is an Assistant Research Professor with the University of Montana at the Flathead Lake Biological Station.
Library offers technology, computer class
POLSON — This program of courses can provide you with computer and technology basics. North Lake County Public Library presents free monthly computer classes and from 2-3 p.m. on June 26 the theme for the class is “Montana Library 2 Go.” All classes will be held in the library community room. POLSON — The varsity Mission Valley Mariners will host their annual “Firecracker” baseball tournament in Polson from Thursday, June 28, to Sunday, July 1. Game times TBD.

POLSON — The Miracle of America Museum will hold their free 4th Thursday, “Night at the Museum,” at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 28. The June program is a walking tour of the west part of the museum village and Montana’s outdoor sculpture gallery. Enjoy the history of selected artifacts and historic as well as recreated buildings. Check in at the alien autopsy center, meet some of the new additions gathered in Area 51, and visit the newest building, the antique gunsmithing shop. Treats and donations always welcome. Montecahto Club holds sale Friday, Saturday
POLSON – The Montecahto Club will hold a garage and bake sale at the Finley Point Fire Hall from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 29 and 30. On June 30, members of the Finley Point Volunteer Fire Department will also hold their fundraiser. The fire hall is situated on Highway 35.
