POLSON — Join the Parents as Teacher Home Visitors as we partner with Youth Services Librarian Kendra during the North Lake County Public Library’s Mother Goose Story Hour at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 9, and for all the Mondays in July. The theme for July 9 will be brushing your teeth. We’ll have activities, treats, toothbrushes and, of course, Kendra will read us fun books on the topic. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. We’ll have a drawing for a door prize, and we often give out free books to the children in attendance. POLSON — Join us for All In Stitches’ Annual Cherry Quilt Show July 10 – July 22 in celebration of the Flathead Cherry Festival. Quilts will hang in businesses on Main Street from Tuesday, July 10, through Sunday, July 22. Plan some time to pick up a ballot at All In Stitches and walk around Polson to vote on your favorite quilts by July 18. Ribbons will be hung July 19. POLSON — Author Milana Marsenich will do a reading and book signing on Wednesday, July 11, at 7 p.m. at the North Lake County Library, 2 First Ave. E. The author of “Copper Sky,” she will share her latest publication: “The Swan Keeper”; a story of girlhood, nature and flight from a tyrant’s hand in post-frontier Montana.

POLSON — The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, July 11, at 6 p.m. at the Big Arm Station No. 2 meeting room.

POLSON — On Wednesday, July 11, at 2 p.m. watch the Mariners play the Varsity Bitterroot Red Sox in a conference game.

POLSON — The Fresh Life Church will sponsor a blood drive at Tribal Health in Polson on Thursday, July 12. It’s always a challenge to keep enough donations on hand during this time of year. Donators will check in on our website: https://outreach.freshlife.church/event/blooddrive to get an appointment so we can be sure to have enough nurses and volunteers to accommodate everyone between 11 a.m.-4 p.m. that day.

POLSON — North Lake County Public Library is hosting a free Thursday morning program from 10–11 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome. Thanks to the Flathead Biological Station, an “Under Water, Over Rocks” experience will take place at the July 12 program. Call 406-883-8225 for more information.

POLSON — Members of Polson’s three P.E.O. chapters will hold their annual “Brown Bag Picnic” at the Pavilion in Boettcher Park on Thursday, July 12, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dessert is provided. All visiting P.E.O. members are cordially invited to attend.

POLSON — Lake County Commissioner Dave Stipe, will speak to the public at the meeting of Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, July 13, from noon-1 p.m. He will address questions the public may have on the county budgetary process. Projected changes to the future budget of Lake County may be possible given new property tax payments. The meeting will take place at Polson Rural Fire Hall at 25 Regatta Road. POLSON — The fourth annual Polson Mud Run will be held on Saturday, July 14, at the Polson Fairgrounds. This is a fundraising event for the Flathead Boys & Girls Club. The 5K obstacle course includes many different types of terrain and obstacles to overcome, including mud. POLSON — The third Tuesday of each summer month the North Lake County Public Library holds a fun, interactive program for teens and pre-teens called “Adulting 101.” This program is intended to help prepare the future of our nation to go out into the world (mostly) ready to survive as a new adult. We promise these sessions won’t be boring and will provide lunch. Sessions start at 1 p.m. in the library meeting room. Please let us know if you plan to come so we can be sure there is enough food. We all know that “Adulting” can be hard … the library is here to make the transition a little easier. POLSON — With thanks to Kiwanis, the 33rd annual Bug Race will take place at the Elks Lodge #1695, from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19.

POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets for lunch meetings the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 p.m. Mark Nelson, Solid Waste Manager at the Lake County Transfer Station, will be the speaker for Polson Kiwanis Club on July 19. Mark will tell us about the state of the recycling program and what is happening locally and nationally. Lake County is making every effort to help its residents learn how to reduce waste and recycle. This benefits the environment, saves the county money, and reduces what goes in the landfill. Everyone is welcome to attend.

POLSON — Polson SPLASH will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Kalispell Regional Medical Center Polson Health.

POLSON — Mark your calendars for a funfilled weekend called Live History Days at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, on July 21 and July 22. There will be historic movies Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. There will be ice cream and other concessions; rides on two trains; Army rigs; spinners and wood carvers; a sawmill in action; a jet trainer cockpit; a blacksmith shop; whirling flywheel engines; a tennis ball cannon; a one room schoolhouse, a flint knapper and educational gun exhibits. The “Country Combo” of fiddlers, pickers, singers and accordions will provide listening and dancing entertainment on Saturday. Join the fun, sell your wares and be a part of history. We welcome new exhibitors and volunteers. POLSON — The Polson Main Street Flathead Cherry Festival will be held Saturday, July 21, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, July 22, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Come enjoy the great selection of vendors, Flathead cherries, homemade cherry pies, cherry quilts on display in store windows, unique arts and crafts, entertainment, sidewalk sales and specials all weekend long.
