Fundraiser event held
POLSON — Lake County Search and Rescue will hold a fundraising event with an ATV, UTV, and Dirt Bike Poker Run on Saturday, June 10. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Buffalo Bridge and ends at Sloan Bridge. After the event there will be a barbecue dinner back at Buffalo Bridge. Pre-registration will take place Friday, June 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the VFW in Polson. Late registration starts at 8 a.m. June 10. Registration fees are $35 for the first poker hand and a T-shirt; $10 for additional hands. Additional T-shirts will be available to purchase: $15 for children and $18 for adults. Join the Baha’I ‘Race Unity Picnic’
POLSON — The Baha’is of the Flathead Reservation will hold a “Race Unity”Picnic” celebrating Race Unity Day and promoting unity in diversity, friendship and respect for all people. The event is on June 11, from 1-3 p.m. at the large pavilion in Boettcher Park in Polson. Food, crafts and games will be provided. Boys and Girls Club starts in Ronan, Polson
LAKE COUNTY — The Flathead Reservation and Lake County Boys and Girls Club will operate a summer program at both their Polson and Ronan sites Monday-Friday (not July 4) from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. The cost is $25 per month or $75 for the entire summer program, which runs June 12-Aug. 18. The summer program focuses on academics, good character and citizenship and developing healthy lifestyles. Applications may be picked up onsite or at: www.flatheadbgc. org.
Cherry Valley serves breakfast, lunch
POLSON — Monday, June 12, is the first day of the free breakfast and lunch Summer Food Service Program in Polson. Cherry Valley, 107 Eighth Ave. W, is the site for the program. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-1:15 p.m., Monday-Friday. All children 18 years old and under eat for free. Lunches are available for adults for a fee. All kids can come enjoy food in a safe, fun, healthy environment. The program ends on Friday, Aug. 4.
Free training given for Law Enforcement
POLSON —Detective Guy Baker from the Missoula Police Department will provide a free POST Certified Training on “Sex Trafficking Investigations” on June 12 from noon-5 p.m. in the Lake County Courthouse Conference Room. Polson Youth Basketball, Volleyball Summer Camps
Sign-up for Polson Youth Basketball, Volleyball Summer Camps POLSON — Polson Youth Basketball and Volleyball Summer Camps, sponsored by the head girls’ basketball and volleyball coaching staffs and current high school players, will be held for grades 2-8, Monday-Wednesday, June 12-14, at Linderman Elementary School. The cost is $60 dollars for both camps or $30 dollars for each sport. New director of MVAS to speak to Kiwanis
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis meets on the first and third Thursday each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort from noon- 1 p.m. in the Koostatah room. Our speaker will be the new director of the Mission Valley Animal Shelter, Filip Panusz. Flip comes from Missoula where he worked at the Humane Society and also as an Animal Control Officer. Catch the wave of God’s love at VBS
POLSON — Kids can “Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Love” at Vacation Bible Camp at the Polson United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to noon, June 19-23. The camp’s theme, “Surf Shack,” will use the analogy of waves to help campers experience God’s love. Activities will include music, puppets, story-time, games, science, crafts and mission. A light snack will be served. Camp will end with a Friday Celebration Day picnic provided for the campers and their families from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Registration for kids, entering kindergarten-12 years of age is now open. Potty-trained preschoolers are also welcome. Forms are available at the church or at: www.polsonumc.org. Camp costs are $10 per child or $20 per family. Scholarships are available. Library offers free class
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will host a free technology class on Tuesday, June 20, at 2 p.m. in the meeting room. Specialist Heather Miles will present a class titled, “The Cloud and What to Do With It.” Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops or tablets to follow along. Library laptops will also be available for attendees who don’t have a device. Anyone of any age or skill level is invited to attend. Registration is required. POLSON — Come learn and earn $20 worth of double SNAP dollars to spend on locally grown produce, seeds, meat, eggs, bread, and garden plants at the Polson Farmers Market, for those that qualify. Native culture activities taught on Wednesdays through Aug. 9
POLSON — The Polson School Indian Education Committee is sponsoring Summer Native Culture activities available to all kids on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. Kids will learn about Native plants, Tribal forests, Native art, crafts, traditional tools, and drumming. Participants will experience hands-on activities and take home their own handiwork. Activities begin June 21 at the Polson Middle School and run through August 9 – except July 5. Lunch is provided. Montecahto rummage sale set for June 23 and 24
POLSON – The Montecahto Club will hold its rummage sale at the Finley Point Fire Station on Friday, June 23, from noon-5 p.m. and Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fire station is next door to the clubhouse, across Highway 35 from the Finley Point Grill. Money raised at the rummage sale goes to the club’s ongoing projects, including an annual scholarship for a Polson High School senior and sending gift boxes to those serving in the military.

Watch NRA Rodeo in PolsonPOLSON — Mission Mountain NRA Rodeo is on Friday and Saturday, June 23-24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be youth events including mutton bustin’ and mini bull riding at 7:30 p.m. NRA Rodeo events include bareback, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, team roping, tie down toping, ladies and youth barrel racing, ladies and youth breakaway roping and bull riding. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years of age. Tickets will be available at the gate. There will be no pre-sale tickets. Food, beverage and beer garden concessions will be available. There will also be live music after the Friday night performance. (Free vendors fair, no food items.)
