POLSON — Join us for the community dance at the Elks’ ballroom on Wednesday, June 5, from 7-10 p.m. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of country and vintage rock and roll. The combo includes Ken Kenmille, guitar and vocalist; Richard Tobel, lead guitar; Liz Steele on accordion and our southern singer, Betty Carter. Coffee and water provided, drinks, soft drinks are available for purchase. Everyone is welcome. No Elks membership is required. The cover charge is $5. POLSON — New Zealand is the subject of the 3:30 p.m. Wiggle Worms program at the North Lake County Public library.

POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held at the Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites from noon-1 p.m. The featured speaker for this month is Bridger Mahlum of the Montana Chamber of Commerce. POLSON — The Lake County Republican Central Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Polson Rural Fire Hall conference room. Our county attorney will bring us up to speed on the illegal activity in the county. You will also hear reports from our elected officials. Everyone is always welcome at our meetings. POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on Thursday, June 6, at noon, downstairs in the Koostatah Room at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Robbie Hayes will speak on behalf of Special Olympics and receive an award from Kiwanis. Kiwanis will also present an award to Helping Hands and Tillie Marshall will tell about the progress on its projects, including the successful “Baby Boxes” given to new mothers in local Lake County hospitals. These boxes have been instrumental in lowering infant mortality rates. Shea McGuinness will receive a Polson Key Club scholarship. Kiwanis Club will also be organizing committees for its upcoming fundraiser, the second annual Wine and Beer Festival, to take place on Friday, June 21, at the KOA campground. The public is welcome to attend.

POLSON — A movie about training a dragon will take place at the North Lake County Public Library at 3:45 p.m. Popcorn will be served.

POLSON — North Lake County Public Library’s Wednesday, June 12, Wiggle Worms program will learn about Brazil.

POLSON – The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station No. 1, 25-B Regatta Road. An agenda is available on the Monday prior to the meeting.

POLSON — “Bringing Back Leopard Frogs to the Flathead Reservation,” by Art Soukkala, will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s next educational program on Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — The Kiwanis Club is hosting a local beer and wine fest from 6-9 p.m. at the KOA Campground, 200 Irvine Flats Road, on June 14. This fundraiser supports local Kiwanis community projects and local youth activities including scholarships, the Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts, Special Olympics and the Polson Middle School band. POLSON — Pachyderm speaker, Sheriff Don Bell will share updates on law enforcement issues in Lake County and the status of the drug epidemic impacting our community. All are invited to the Friday, June 14, meeting at the Polson Rural Fire Department from noon-1 p.m.

POLSON — A members only open show entitled “Magic Moment,” featuring Sandpiper Art Gallery member artists past and present will be exhibited from June 17-July 26. All submissions will be accepted in the artist’s interpretation of the theme. This is member magic at its best. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.

POLSON — The Boys and Girls Club of Lake County and Flathead Reservation in Polson will operate a summer program Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. from June 17-Aug. 16 (closed July 4). The cost is $10 per week or $75 for the full summer. The summer session is nine weeks of fun - opportunities, discoeries, learning, and activities galore. POLSON — A vacation Bible camp is planned for Monday, June 17, thru Thursday, June 20, at the Polson United Methodist Church. Registration forms are available on the website: www. polsonumc.org. The theme for the week is “God created me to be ... kind, loving, generous and courageous.” We welcome kids ages 4-12 to attend. POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s summer reading program, “A Universe of Stories,” begins registration at 10 a.m. They will make full use of their ongoing NASA @My Library grant resources to provide high-quality programming. This program is open to readers of all ages; register online at: www.northlakecountylibrary.org or at the library. Also on this date, the Usborne New Book Fair will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Books for infants to young adults are among the selections available. There will be no Makerspace program held on this day.
