POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library presents free twice monthly computer classes. This program of courses can provide you with computer and technology basics. On May 15, at 2 p.m. learn about “Flipster and Freegal.” “Flipster” is a digital magazine that makes it easy for you to read your favorite magazines on your computer or mobile device. “Freegal Music” is a free music service that is provided to you by your participating public library. POLSON – The Essiac Study Group will meet at the large meeting room of the North Lake County Public Library from 6:30 - 8 p.m. on May 16, 30 and June 13. May 16 features a discussion on the nine key factors to staying alive and healthy - a look at Kelly Turner’s book Radical Remission. Also information on growing herbs and free seeds. POLSON – Calling all of you who love classic country music to come and join us at our next dance from 7-10 p.m., on Wednesday, May 16, at the Elks on Main Street. The band also plays music from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. If you like hamburgers, the Elks put out a pretty good one before the dance. Cost of the dance is $5 per person. Come and enjoy yourselves.

POLSON —The Polson Painted Rock project is off to a fantastic start. There have been approximately 80 rocks distributed, with one making it all the way to Safeco Field. We will be hosting another Open Rock Painting Party at the Chamber Office on May 16, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Keep your eye out for our rocks, and let us know where you find them. POLSON – A fundraiser to benefit Polson community member Carlos Rodriques will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Polson Elks Club on Main Street. Carlos became suddenly ill and has been hospitalized since early March with an autoimmune affliction that has compromised his nervous system, leaving him paralyzed. In addition to the fundraiser at the Elks Club, two other online fundraisers through GoFundMe and CaringBridge have been set up to help pay for his medical costs. For more information call 676-0170.

POLSON — At 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, an adult coloring program honors the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan. We will feature vintage hats and gloves, wedding refreshments and floral coloring choices.

POLSON — Mission Valley Rises announces a great opportunity to attend a workshop on communication, called “Gracious Space,” on May 23, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Red Lion in Polson. POLSON – A free “Night at the Museum,” held the fourth Thursday of every month, is set for May 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, Polson. Lots of local history unfolds as we do a walking tour of a portion of the outside museum village. Learn more about early residents Jack and Elisabeth Welch’s sewing and saddle shops, Lewis’s and Uhde’s rival gas stations, Rolfson’s Queen Court, Gordon Fisher Optometry, the Trusler barn and more. POLSON — On Friday, May 25, from noon-1 p.m. Pachyderms will host Tom McDonald, manager of Fish, Wildlife & Recreation and Conservation Department for the Salish & Kootenai Tribe. He will give an update on the efforts to control the mussel infestation in Montana lakes. He will raise awareness on how citizens or volunteers can play a part in protecting Flathead Lake. The group will meet at the Polson Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road.
