‘Broad Comedy,’ auction to benefit Women 4 Wellness
POLSON — A “girls’ night out” is planned for May 11 with Broad Comedy at 7:30 p.m. Happy hour is at 6:30 p.m. The show will be held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. There will also be an evening auction. These events are fundraisers for Women 4 Wellness.

Mother’s Day dinner to benefit Bethlehem trip
POLSON — Good Shepherd’s youth group will serve a Mother’s Day crab and shrimp dinner on Sunday, May 12, from 2-6 p.m. at the Glacier Brewery at 10th and Main Streets in Polson.
This third annual event will raise funds for the 2014 ecumenical service trip to Bethlehem. Paul Rowold, pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will lead the trip which will include youth and their families. The travelers stay at the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church guest house in Bethlehem, help with work around the church’s school and college, and tour Holy sites throughout the region.
The Mother’s Day dinner will include crab, shrimp, side dishes and dessert. Tickets for the dinner are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12 and are available at the church office, 409 Fourth Ave., E. We’ll have a few scissors available, but please bring your own crab cracker if you have one.

POLSON — On Monday, May 13, the regular board meeting for Polson Schools will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Polson Schools district office, 111 Fourth Ave., E.
Tuesday, May 14
Herb meeting held at library
POLSON —The next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs Group” will be Tuesday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at the North Lake County Public Library meeting room 2 First Ave., E.
We will have a guest facilitator, Barb Gabbitas, who will lead the discussion on “The Evolution toward Natural Living from Mainstream Thought.” The second half of the gathering will focus on dividing plants, soil temperature and pH, and using natural fertilizers.
We will help you learn to grow herbs or find local sources for herbs. Anyone interested in learning about herbs, please come join in the discussion. It’s free and open to all who are interested in herbs.

Gray partridge, pheasant seasons discussed at meeting
POLSON — The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board will meet Wednesday, May 15, at 6 p.m. at the Polson City Library. At the meeting, the Board will discuss pheasant and gray partridge seasons and CSKT accomplishments over the past year under the state/tribal agreement. All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting.
The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board includes three state members, three CSKT members, and one member from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The board was established pursuant to the State/Tribal Agreement on managing fisheries, waterfowl and bird hunting within the boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation.

Cherry Blossom Festival invites arts, crafts vendors
POLSON — The Yellow Bay Community Club’s 10th annual Flathead Lake Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Arts and crafts vendors are invited to apply for space reservations by calling Shari at (406) 982-3437.
The festival is free and open to the public. Crafters and artisans offer a large assortment of locally produced items and entertainment is provided. There will be raffles and free door prizes.

Polson Heart and Soul gathers neighbors again
POLSON — 2013 Polson Heart and Soul continues its neighborhood gatherings Thursday, May 23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Everyone of all ages is welcome to attend with special emphasis for those living around the Grandview and Woodbine neighborhoods. Good conversations, along with a free dinner, are planned and babysitting services are available. The neighborhood gathering will take place at the United Methodist Church located at 301 Sixteenth Ave., E.
Polson Heart and Soul project is holding approximately 20 such gatherings to find out what you think about Polson. Folks are invited to engage in a friendly conversation with your neighbors, ultimately to help develop a stronger, healthier Polson while preserving the best. You are invited to let your views be heard and to listen to what others have to say on a variety of topics. The schedule of activities includes dinner from 6-6:30 p.m.; small group conversations within groups of three, 6:30-7:30; and sharing with discussion led by Polson Heart and Soul staff from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Come join your neighbors and visit about the future of Polson. To help ensure adequate food and babysitting services, please RSVP.
Polson Youth Soccer plans two sign-up dates
POLSON — Polson Youth Soccer Association will be hosting two sign-up events, May 23 and May 30; both from 5-7 p.m. Registration will take place at Kerr Dam Soccer Fields and cost $35, if registered by June 10, or $50 if registered after June 10. Players must be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2013 to register. Season will run September 15-Oct. 13. If you cannot attend one of the sign-up events, you can download the 2013 fall registration form and send along with payment to: PYSA, P.O. Box 1337, Polson, MT 59860. Registrations will only be accepted at the sign-up events or if sent to the P.O. Box. Please do not turn into the schools. No late registrations will be accepted. PYSA is always in need of volunteers to coach, referee, and prepare fields, so please indicate on the registration form how you can help.
