‘Storytime’ held twice weekly
POLSON - Polson Library’s kindergarten readiness program for 3-5 year olds includes stories, songs and crafts and takes place every Thursday and Saturday at 2 p.m. The theme for this week is “Mothers Day.”
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo
POLSON - Break out your Corona! It’s a Cinco de Mayo Mexican themed dinner at the Masumola Club. Hosts will bring fixings for tacos, enchilada casserole, a corn casserole and chips and salsa. Tom Bansak from the Flathead Lake Bio Station will give a presentation. Join your hosts on May 8 at 5:45 p.m. for social hour, meal, and meeting at the Masumola Clubhouse. POLSON - From 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Red Lion Inn, a blood drive will be held by the American Red Cross in honor of Lucille Richwine. To schedule an appointment call 406-883-2620.

POLSON - The North Lake County Public Library will host Patrick Mangan, agriculture extension educator, on Thursday, May 8, at 4 p.m. for “The Climate Behind Gardening: What to Plant When.” Learn what and when to plant and the species of plants to avoid planting. This presentation will take place in the library’s community room.

POLSON - Sandpiper Art Gallery & Gifts a non-juried open art show celebrating the charm of aquatic life will include paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and crafts from Monday, May 5. until Friday, June 20. A reception will take place on Friday, May 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the Gallery.
Laugh, play at library
POLSON - Game Club invites you to laugh and play with friends on the second Friday of each month at the Polson Library. Doors open at 4 p.m. and all middle and high school students are invited. We play until 5:30 p.m.
State Auditor to speakat Pachyderm meeting
POLSON - The next Pachyderm meeting is on Friday, May 9, at noon at the Polson Rural Fire Station, 25 Regatta Road, which is on the north side of the Polson bridge. Our guest speaker for this meeting will be Montana State Auditor, James Brown. James will provide updates about our state and be available to answer questions.

POLSON - MV Choral Society’s “Music In Our Hearts” spring concert TOto be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, at 4 p.m. in Polson at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The free-will offering will benefit Helping Hands of Mission Valley.

Masumola Club holds information meeting
POLSON - Attend an information meeting at the Masumola Clubhouse on May 15, at 3 p.m. on the casino, traffic impacts and what we can do about improving our safety. Wally Congdon will speak. Jan Smith-Kasson said her goal is to stop construction until the traffic issue is resolved.

POLSON - Polson Library’s Friends of the Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Ice Breaker 50 happens at the MV Super Oval
POLSON - The Mission Valley Super Oval will hold a late model 50 lap, no points race with hobby stock, legend, mod 4s and hornets. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. Qualifying happens at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. For more information go to: MissionValleySuperOval.com.
Library holds plant exchange
POLSON - On Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., you are invited to share extra plant cuttings, and excess plant seedlings with community members. Please bring healthy plants to exchange. There is no obligation to trade, and you can contribute or take plants without an exact trade. The library has a seed catalog and a small display of seed varieties.
Recycle your e-waste
POLSON - You may bring up to 300 pounds of allowable electronics free to Lake County Transfer Station from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. A discount for additional recycling is allowed for .10/pound.(No CRT screens or televisions other than flatscreens).
