POLSON — A Northwest Montana AARP Smart Driver Course will be taught at the Polson Area Senior Center from 8:30-11:00 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Call 406-883-4735 for a reservation.

POLSON — At this meeting, held in the Lake County Health Department conference room, the Community Action Partnership will be on hand to carry out a Focus Group. They want local input to help with decisions and activities that will serve our community and clients.   Please, try to join us so that we can provide strong representation on these topics. Spread the word. POLSON — North Lake County Library presents Story Time on Thursdays for 3-5 year olds at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The one-hour program includes reading, rhymes, and crafts. This week’s story theme is “You Nest Here with Me.”

POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce will hold their monthly SPLASH on Thursday, April 20, from 5-7 p.m. at PureWest Real Estate’s new offices located at 50249 US Highway 93.

POLSON — The 27th annual Cowboy Ball will take place under the big tent at the Polson Fairgrounds on Friday, April 21. No host cocktails and a silent auction are at 5:30 p.m., dinner is at 6:30 p.m., a live auction is at 7:30 p.m. and dancing will follow. For more information call 406-883-1100. Tickets are $40 each and proceeds will benefit fairgrounds improvement.

POLSON — Everything Fitz is a family band featuring the high-energy fiddling and percussive step dancing of four of Canada’s finest young musicians. With roots in the Canadian old-time fiddle tradition and Ottawa Valley step dancing, their unique stage show combines a variety of musical styles-everything from traditional jigs and reels, bluegrass, jazz and swing standards, Celtic, gospel as well as novelty numbers and choreographed dance routines. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door, or four admission tickets for $45 and seven admission tickets for $75. Youth 18 years old and under are free. POLSON — The 11th annual CASA Golf Scramble takes place at Polson Golf Course on April 22 with 9 a.m. registration and a 11 a.m. shotgun start. There will also be a Hole-In-One Event, a barbecue celebration and an auction following golf. Proceeds benefit CASA of Lake and Sanders Counties who train advocates for neglected and abused children. POLSON — The Polson community is invited to participate in a candidates' forum with the three candidates who are vying for the two available seats on Polson School District board. The forum is sponsored by Polson Education Association and will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, in the Polson High School Library. The election of these board members will take place on May 2.

POLSON — “Shrimp, Salmon, Trout and Mussels: Invasive Seafood Chowder in Flathead Lake” by Tom Bansak will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s program on Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — On April 27, at 6:30 p.m. Miracle of America’s Free Night at the Museum event will show the movie, “Harry’s War.” A postal worker quits his job to fight against the IRS who had unjustly treated his Aunt Beverly who owned a military surplus yard. Harry has to use a WWII halftrack (like the museum displays out front) to fight for justice. The museum displays some of the actual movie props. Come enjoy this “fourth Tuesday” event and enjoy a classic family movie with background discussion and a display tour of select items.

POLSON – Ronan Police Chief Kenneth J. Weaver is slated to be the guest speaker at the Friday, April 28, Pachyderm Club meeting. Weaver will address issues facing small law enforcement agencies, particularly the lack of officers. He will also speak about how the possible loss of Public Law 280 will affect the Ronan Police Department. Lake County Pachyderm meetings are held in the Polson Rural Fire Dept. building on Regatta Road from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome.

POLSON — Please join Mission Valley Rises for our second, Non-Partisan Potluck for Democracy. We will meet on Sunday, April 30, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Indian Senior Citizens Center, 701 First Street E. Our focus will be on Montana’s Special Election on May 25. We will meet with the candidates’ representatives, ask our questions, and share our ideas. We will also learn more about how, as individuals and in groups, we can be more effectively engaged in our democracy. People of all persuasions are encouraged to join us in a civil dialogue about the things that matter to us in our community, state and nation. Bring your ideas – and a dish to share. We will once again enjoy good food, listen to one another, and make new friends.
