POLSON — Polson Chamber general meeting and luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in Polson from noon-1 p.m. David W. King will be sharing one of his latest projects with the Western Montana Growers Co-op and Lake County Community Development on the “Farm to School” program.

POLSON — Ken’s Country Combo will play on Wednesday, April 2, at the Elks from 7-10 pm. The group welcomes back all the snowbirds. You have been missed. Bring a treat to share and join us.

POLSON — The Miracle of America Museum on Memory Lane, in Polson, just off of Highway 93 S, will present an evening of enlightening music on Thursday, April 3, from 5-7 p.m. This is a free concert provided by the students of Fiddle Sticks School Of Music. This year’s selections will be old time fiddle tunes, jazz, big band era, country western, beach tunes and more from 1920s through 2000s, showcasing how young and old can learn to play the instrument they always wanted to. POLSON – On Saturday, April 5, the seventh annual Brian Anciaux Benefit Breakfast will be held at the Polson Elks Lodge, from 8:30-11 a.m. Proceeds to benefit the Polson Youth Baseball Association. The cost is $3 per plate for 13 years of age and younger and $5 per plate for all others. The public is welcome to enjoy breakfast and celebrate our youth baseball players.

POLSON —An Easter Cantata, “Upon the Rock,” offered by the Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church and music offered by the Copland Memorial Hand Bell Choir is scheduled for Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. Come and experience the Easter Gospel story through the eyes of his disciple Peter at the First Presbyterian Church of Polson, 301 Fourth Ave. E.

POLSON — The next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs Group” will be Monday, April 7, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room, 2 First Ave. E. (use the east side door). Our topic will be “Growing Herbs and Food to Prevent Disease.” Come learn which herbs you need to have in your home and how to use them to stay well. Anyone interested in learning to use herbs is invited to join us. Bring your questions for discussion. Please mark your calendar for the May meeting on Monday, May 12. POLSON — Polson’s School Board meeting will be on Monday, April 7, at the Polson district office boardroom at 5:30 p.m. 

POLSON — At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, Heart to Heart will play their brand of tunes at the next community dance at the Elks Club. Dance from 7-10 p.m. Treats and all are welcome. 

POLSON — The Polson Rural Fire District monthly trustee meeting will be on Wednesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds station.

The old business will include updates from the building committee; annual performance review workup; equipment; city/rural; SOP/bullying update; and budget class with county update.

The new business will include proposed sharing of legal fees of unification and the budget.

POLSON — The next Resource Roundtable meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 9, at noon at Lake County Health Department conference room. Jenna Justice from Frontier Home Health and Hospice, Women for Wellness and a new Youth Homelessness Initiative will be topics for discussion. Lunch is provided.

POLSON — An introductory class to Zen meditation will be offered at Yoga Heart Studio, 314 Main Street, on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. Zen Priest Jerry Smyers will present the class. There is no charge for the class. Everyone is welcome. For more details, call (847) 721-0665.

POLSON — The Miracle of America Museum will feature the full-length film, “Harry’s War”  at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10. The hilarious antics of Harry fighting for justice from the bungling IRS agents, who are sure his Aunt Beverly is worth millions with her military surplus yard, will keep you laughing. Some WWII artifacts used in the movie are on display at the museum. There is no charge for the event, but treats and/or a free-will offering will be accepted.

POLSON — The next educational program of the Mission Mountain Audubon Society is on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. The program is “Saving Native Fish in Flathead Lake” by Barry Hansen. Everyone is welcome. 

Barry will provide an overview of the ecology of Flathead Lake including the status of the cutthroat and bull trout populations. He will also address proposals to conserve these native species by suppressing non-native lake trout.  

Barry Hansen is a fisheries biologist for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

POLSON — County Commissioner Bill Barron will be the guest speaker at the Friday, April 11, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club beginning at noon at the Rural Polson Fire Department building on Regatta Road near the fairgrounds. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m.; brown bag lunches are encouraged.

POLSON — The April Friendship Table Dinner is coming up on April 11 from 5-7 p.m. Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.

POLSON — Everyone is invited to enjoy an ecumenical Palm Sunday Choral Festival at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson. This annual event is truly an inspiration to folks with both Lenten and Easter music selections. Individual Church choirs and worship teams from Polson churches share inspirational seasonal music during an hour-long concert. The Choral Festival is followed by a spaghetti supper in the lower level of the church. 

POLSON — The Montana Co-op Local Food and Sustainability’s “Monday Night at the Movies Spring Film Series” begins April 14 with the movie, “The Beautiful Truth - How to strengthen your immune system, improve cardiovascular health and conquer cancer by changing your body chemistry.” The movie night is free, but you can bring snacks if you desire. Show time is 6 p.m., at Wander Inn at Journey Be, 101 Seventh Ave. W. in Polson, (and if you would like to come learn more or order from the Montana Co-op come at 5 p.m.). POLSON — The Lake County Republican Women Group invites everyone to hear a remarkable Polson High School Senior speak about her experience at the nation’s capitol. Sharidan Russell, William Randolph Hearst Foundation’s U.S. Senate Youth Delegate, will speak on Monday, April 14, from 7-9 p.m. at Polson Rural Fire Hall, west of Highway 93 just north of the bridge.

POLSON — Tra le Gael, a Celtic ensemble based in the Flathead Valley, will engage audiences with energetic reels, lively jigs and lovely airs, from traditional Irish tunes to modern compositions on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Polson High School auditorium.

POLSON — Local performer Neal Lewing will present “Singing the Westward Legacy” at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. The event, a Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau Program, is open to everyone at no cost. Neal will present original and traditional folk songs and narrative from our nation’s history, along with his trademark humor. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call (406) 883-8225.
