POLSON — Providence St. Joseph Hospital’s Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention program is a lifestyle change program that starts at 5 p.m. on Feb. 21. It is open to anyone at risk for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. A referral from your provider and a prescreening is required. For more information call 406-883-8454.

POLSON — AARP’s Smart Drivers’ Safety Course is scheduled to be taught from 8:30-11 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. at the Polson Senior Center. Please call 406-883-4735 for a reservation.

POLSON — A free community dinner will be served on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E. The menu is Mexican cuisine. A warm welcome goes to one and all.

POLSON — A screening of “The Sands of Iwo Jima,” starring John Wayne will take place at the Miracle of America Museum on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 6:30 p.m. This movie shows the day in 1945 that the U.S. Marines took Mt. Suribachi on the island of Iwo Jima.

POLSON — North Lake County Library presents Story Time on Thursdays for 3-5 year olds at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The one-hour program includes reading, rhymes, and crafts. This week’s story theme is “How do Dinosaurs Learn their Colors?”

POLSON — Stop by North Lake County Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. to explore the digital services the library offers. POLSON — The Community Dance will take place from 7-10 p.m. on March 1 at the Elks Club in Polson. Ken’s Country Combo will play for western night.

POLSON — Special montly Zen Meditation Classes are being offered at the YogaHeart Studio, 314 Main Street, on Wednesday, March 1, March 29 and May 3 at 7 p.m. Zen Priest Jerry Smyers will present the classes. POLSON — Keep the winter blues away by escaping with a good book (or seven). The North Lake County Public Library is holding a winter reading program for adults and teens. You can stop into the library beginning Wednesday, Dec. 21, to pick up your Bingo-style reading log or print it from our Facebook page. Successfully complete seven squares on your winter Bingo card and then cards will be entered into a drawing in April. The winter reading program will run from Dec. 21-March 19. POLSON — A reception will be held on Friday, March 3, from 5-7 p.m. for artists exhibiting work in the Sandpiper Gallery’s show, “Everything Happens For A Reason.”
