POLSON — The guest speaker for the Lake County Democrats meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 18, will be Megan Bailey, from Sunburst Mental Health Services. Megan will discuss the services available in Lake County, the challenges and successes of program efforts and the current legislative issues. The meeting will be held at the North Lake Public Library in Polson. A social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m. The public is invited.

POLSON — Every month the Polson Chamber invites its members and members of the public to join them during the monthly Support Polson Late Afternoon Social Hour (SPLASH). SPLASH on Thursday, Feb. 19, will be hosted by Polson Health at 106 Ridgewater Drive, from 5-7 p.m.

The February event will include a ribbon cutting for this new facility, a department of Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Polson Health provides primary care and chiropractic care along with a wide range of visiting specialists.

POLSON — Winter Carnival, the family-fun event at Polson High School, is Saturday, Feb. 21, from 8-10 p.m. This year’s theme is “Back to the 90s.” Join the fun at the high school gym for carnival games, bingo, cakewalk, and other fun activities and food. You can show your support for Polson High School classes and organizations. Purchase tickets for 50 cents each at the door and use them to play games and purchase food. POLSON — Polson’s Partners in Home Care/Hospice is offering a training session for volunteers. As a volunteer you can become part of a community of health care professionals dedicated in offering compassionate end of life care to our patients in the Mission Valley. POLSON — The fifth annual Winter Fest is on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Polson Elks Club Ballroom at 5 p.m. Admission is $10, which includes Montana Backyard Barbeque. Children under 12 years old are free. 

The band Blue Smoke will follow a live auction. There will also be a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and a basket raffle. Donation auction items are appreciated. This is a fundraiser for Journey Be, a nonprofit organization addressing hunger and homelessness. POLSON – Polson Foursquare is hosting “Celebrate Recovery 12 Step Program,” a Christ-centered recovery program, on Sunday nights, starting Feb. 22, from 5-8 p.m. This program is based on the Bible for anyone struggling with any hurt, habit, or hang-up.

All are welcome for the 5 p.m. dinner and worship, teaching, testimonies, and small groups for male and female issues from 6-8 p.m. The evening ends with coffee/dessert at 8 p.m. Childcare is available upon request. Space is limited, so please call the library at (406) 883-8225 to register.On Monday, Feb. 23, Introduction to Microsoft Word will be taught from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Students in this class will learn how to create new documents, save documents, share via email, and adjust fonts and font colors. The session is intended for those with little to no experience using Word.

POLSON — Partners in Suicide Prevention, part of CSKT TSSD Circle of Trust, will welcome trainer Gary Neumann on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Gary will present “Developing a Community Response Plan,” a free presentation from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the third floor of the THHS building. Lunch will be provided.

POLSON — Chapter 1122 of the EAA will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Polson Library. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome to join us. Our program this month is on “Flying to Air Adventure - The Oshkosh Air Show.”

POLSON — Heart to Heart will play at the Wednesday night dance at the Elks from 7-10 p.m. They play rock and roll and many old favorites. Come and join the fun and don’t forget to bring a treat to share.

On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Facebook Basics will be taught from 3-4 p.m. Facebook Basics is an introductory class in which students will learn about creating a Facebook account, setting up privacy settings, messaging, finding your friends, navigating and posting to your timeline, and uploading pictures.

POLSON — A free community dinner will be served on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E. Menu for the evening includes casseroles, salads, and desserts. All are welcome.

POLSON — Polson School District is having a special board meeting on Thursday, Feb. 26, at noon in the district office, 111 Fourth Ave. E. 

POLSON — Anyone interested in learning about developments up on the Ridgewater properties is invited to attend the meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, Feb. 27, at the Polson Rural Fire Department Building on Regatta Road near the Polson fairgrounds. The business meeting begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m.

Mike Maddy, owner of the Ridgewater site, and Dennis Duty, a realtor involved with day to day operations, will share news of the hotel under construction, new restaurants, Kalispell Regional Hospital’s clinic, retail stores, and offices that are making Ridgewater the fastest growing area in Polson.

POLSON — All interested citizens are invited to meet with Lake County legislators in Polson on Friday, Feb. 27, from 7-9 p.m. in the Community Room of the North Lake County Library, 2 First Ave. E.

Senator Janna Taylor, Representative Greg Hertz and Representative Dan Salomon will be home for spring break from the Montana legislative session. This is an opportunity to meet them face-to-face, hear their report on key issues in the Montana Legislature, and share personal concerns on issues important to Lake County.

Lake County Republican Women will provide coffee and cookies. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — Sandpiper Gallery presents a Native American Invitational Show highlighting the work of Native American artists Dion Albert (birchbark), Ben Pease  (paintings), Sierra Pete (paintings), and Louie Still Smoking (paintings). POLSON — Mission Valley Christian Academy’s “Staying Alive” disco-themed auction fundraiser and dinner celebration is scheduled for Feb. 28. School supporters and community partners will share their talents and services in celebration of Christian education and for financial support.

This year’s event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the school, located 2 miles east on Hwy 35. Both a live and silent auction will take place and special baskets will also be auctioned. POLSON — The Northwest Accordion Association will hold a jam session on Sunday, March 1, from 2-5:30 p.m. at the VFW.

POLSON — Lenten soup suppers and worship services will be held each Wednesday, Feb. 18-March 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. 

Suppers are at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship services at 6:30 p.m. 

“Stations of the Cross Lutheran Style,” will begin in Bethlehem, go to Nazareth and Capernaum, to the Upper Room and the Garden of Gethsemane, the Antonia Fortress and Palace of Caiaphas, ending on Good Friday at Golgotha.
