Polson Chamber invites Glacier Park speakers
POLSON — Please join us for the Polson Chamber’s general meeting and luncheon at noon on March 5 at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Our topic of discussion will be Glacier National Park and we are very excited to have Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow and Glacier National Park Conservancy CEO Mark Preiss as our featured speakers. Public input sought for parks - Polson
POLSON — The Lake County Parks Board is developing a countywide parks and trails plan and is seeking public comment on the draft. The board will hold three public meetings to present key elements of the plan and to understand the public’s ideas for the development and maintenance of parks and trails.
The third meeting will be held Wednesday, March 5 at the Polson Rural Fire Station on Regatta Road near the Polson fairgrounds at 6 p.m.
Wednesday dance scheduled

POLSON — Polson Foursquare Church is hosting a team from Living Faith Bible College in Alberta, Canada, on Sunday, March 9, at 10 a.m. The theme of the event is: “Arms high and heart abandoned.” This is a faith building presentation of drama, personal story, song and God’s Word. Herb group to gather
POLSON — The next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs Group” is Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library Meeting Room, 2 First Ave. E (use the east side door).
Discussion topics include: herbs you need for everyday health issues, how easy it is to grow herbs, strategies for growing herbs in small spaces, planning your herb and vegetable garden.
Anyone interested in learning to use herbs is invited to join us. Bring your questions for discussion.

Batterer’s Intervention Program information shared
POLSON — At noon on Wednesday, March 12, at the Lake County Health Department conference room a resource roundtable will be held. Susan Weaselhead, a therapist for SAFE Harbor who works with the Batterer’s Intervention Program, will share information about the program and how it works with clients. Lunch will be served.
Polson Rural Fire District trustees to meet
POLSON — Polson Rural Fire District trustee monthly meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds station. Any member of the public wishing to submit items for Board review/consideration needs to submit them to the Board Clerk at least ten (10) days in advance of the meeting. Episcopal Church hosts 12th annual pre-St. Pat’s dinner
POLSON — At 5:30 p.m. on March 13, St. Andrew’s Church will host a dinner that includes a traditional dinner, local entertainment and a promised good time for all. A $10 donation is requested. All proceeds are donated to local charities. Tickets are available at the door.
Miracle of America Museum portrays artist's technique
On Thursday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m., the Miracle of America Museum will feature the story of an artist who spent three days at the museum last summer. Three 30-minute videos show Roger Bansemer of Florida demonstrating his technique for creating beautiful paintings. While visiting, he used the museum’s log cabin and one of the steam tractors as a blank canvas to demonstrate his talent. The videos include snippets of a documentary by his wife, Sarah. The final video depicts the artist’s dive to the Titanic to paint the legendary vessel. There is no charge for the event, but treats and/or free-will offerings will be accepted.

Firefighters’ Ball includes dinner, auction
POLSON — The Firefighter’s Appreciation Ball, “Fire in the Night,” will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. The evening will include dinner, a silent auction and dancing. Polson High School ‘Winter Carnival’ returns
POLSON — Join the fun at the Polson High School gym on Sunday, March 16, from 2-4 p.m. for carnival games, fun activities and delicious food. This is a “mini” revival of the “Winter Carnival” and the hope is that in upcoming years it will grow to its former glory. Purchase tickets for 50 cents each at the door and use them to play games and purchase food.
