POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be held on March 1 in the Elks’ ballroom on Main Street from 1– 4 p.m. The time change is to allow for winter conditions and early sunset. This event takes place every first Sunday of the month. Bring your guitar, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, fiddle, drum, bass, sax, keyboard, etc., and join us for a few hours of fun. Bring your own amp or you may play acoustic. Everyone is welcome to play, sing, dance or just listen. We will have coffee and snacks for you. You do not have to be an Elk member to utilize the bar next door. The cover charge is $5 and there is no charge for singers or players. POLSON — More needle arts begin in March at the North Lake County Public Library. “Knitting Basics” returns with four sessions on March 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 2-3 p.m. in the library meeting room. Beginning knitters, this class is for you. Master knitters Linda Kittle and Julie Hille can answer any questions you have. They also have the flexibility to help you finish the heel of that sock. Bring your projects and any knitting supplies you have on hand (yarn and needles). We will provide instruction, inspiration and can fill in with donated supplies from area knitters. See you there.

POLSON — The Polson Chamber’s monthly luncheon will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 4, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Representatives from the Salish Kootenai College Career Services and Internship Program will make a presentation on the wide variety of internship placement opportunities currently available to Polson area businesses. POLSON — Please join us for the community dance in the Elks Ballroom on Main Street from 7-10 p.m. This will be our birthday dance for this month as our March 18 dance has been preempted by another event. Music is by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during the 8:30 p.m. No Elk membership is required. The cover charge is $5. If you want a good hamburger, come early as Elk members will be cooking from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Come and check us out.

POLSON — Enjoy “Adult Coloring: Color Outside the Lines” on Thursday, March 5, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library’s meeting room. The library has hosted a popular coloring program since 2016. We have always stayed inside the lines, but no more. This time we will doodle our own lines and mandalas. Please join us for this new experience. All supplies are provided and a spring snack. This program is free and open to the public.

POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meet the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 pm. Join us on March 5 when our speaker will be Karen Dunwell from the Polson Flathead Lake Museum. She will update us on the progress of the funding for the new roof as well as new exhibits planned for the coming season.

POLSON — Hand- MADE Montana, 212 Main Street, will hold their First Friday Book reading, coloring contest event on March 6, from 5-8 p.m. Come meet the artist Nick Mask.

POLSON — A new herb study group is being formed and will meet at the North County Public Library’s community room on Tuesday, March 10, from 5:30-7 p.m. Bring ideas and questions to help us get our new group off the ground.

POLSON — Enjoy a great family event playing bingo, winning books, door prizes and having dinner. Join other families on Thursday, March 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for family fun in the downstairs conference room at the Kwa- TaqNuk Resort. POLSON — Watch as talented people of all ages bring their skills to the Polson High School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, to compete in the third annual “Mission Valley Has Talent” event. The talent show is a fundraising event to support the Helping Hands Fund.

POLSON — St. Patrick’s celebration is coming early to Polson this Leap Year. The Great Scots Pipe and Drum Corp will perform locally on Friday, March 13. Their schedule is as follows: Cherry Valley Elementary School at 9:40 a.m.; Providence St Joseph Assisted Living Center at 1 p.m.; Polson VFW on Main Street at 3 p.m.; South Shore Lounge on Anchor Way near the Y at 4 p.m.; and Friendship Table at the Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m. This is a free dinner open to the public. The menu includes a Scottish fare. The church is located on Fourth Ave. across from Linderman School. POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderm invites the community to hear Austin Knudsen, the candidate for Attorney General for the State of Montana, as a guest speaker on Friday, March 13, from noon- 1 p.m. He will discuss drug and methamphetamine problems, along with attacks on our constitutional rights and other issues facing the state of Montana. The meeting is at Polson Rural Fire Department off Regatta Road.
