POLSON — A special Introduction to Zen Meditation Class is being offered at the YogaHeart Studio, 314 Main Street, on Wednesday, on Jan. 25, from 7-9 p.m. The class, presented by Zen Priest Jerry Smyers, includes an introduction to Zen, meditation instruction and practice, a questions and answer period and refreshments. POLSON — There will be a free community dinner at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E, on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m. The menu includes: soups, stews, salads, and desserts. All are welcome.

POLSON — The Miracle of Montana Museum’s “Free Night at the Museum” will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26, with the National Archive’s traveling exhibit of “The Bill of Rights and You,” which, commemorates its 225th anniversary.

POLSON — The Polson Shooters’ Association will hold its annual general membership meeting on Jan. 26, 2017, at the Polson VFW. The meeting starts with social time (no host bar) at 5:30 p.m. A spaghetti dinner follows at 6 p.m. with the meeting after. POLSON — Jayson Peters, Republican State Executive Board member and Flathead County GOP Chairman, is the featured speaker at the Friday, Jan. 27, meeting of the Lake Country Pachyderm Club. He will discuss how the state GOP will choose a nominee to run for the vacancy created when Congressman Ryan Zinke becomes Secretary of the Interior. At least a half-dozen candidates have indicated they will file for the position. Members of the Pachyderm Club as well as the public are invited to the meeting, which begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m. at the Polson Rural Fire Department building, 25 Regatta Road.

POLSON — The Lake County School Transportation Committee will be meeting Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 10:30 a.m. in the Land Services conference room of the Lake County Courthouse. POLSON – North Lake County Public Library in Polson will host the Montana Conversations program “Gary Cooper: First, Last and Always” presented by Neal Lewing on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. The presentation is free and open to the public. Free Gary Cooper movies will also be shown in the library meeting room on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Thursday, Feb. 2. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served. The movie “High Noon” will play on Feb. 1, and “Sergeant York” will be shown on Feb. 2. Both begin at 2 p.m.

POLSON — Come support three Polson High School seniors as they sign their intent to play college football. Matthew Rensvold and Tanner Wilson will attend the University of Montana in Missoula and Jonah Burke will play for Montana Tech in Butte. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. with signing at 6 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the Polson Elks Club.

POLSON — The AARP Tax-Aide Program provides free help in preparing and electronically filing federal and state income tax returns for low to moderate-income taxpayers.
