Polson Presbyterian Church serves free dinner
POLSON — The February Friendship Table dinner is coming up on Friday, Feb. 14, from 5-7 p.m. Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join in; the dinner is free and open to all.
Speaker talks with Conservation District
POLSON — Jim Simpson, chairman of the Lake County Conservation District, will be the featured speaker at the Friday, Feb. 14, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club, held at the Polson Rural Fire Department building on Regatta Road. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. with the business meeting starting at noon and adjourning at 1 p.m. Simpson will discuss and describe a major conservation initiative the LCCD has been studying and how the LCCD will go about asking for public comment regarding the initiative. The meeting is open to all.
Teens invited to Valentine dance
POLSON — A Valentine dance for teens will be held at the Mission Valley Elks’ Club on Friday, Feb. 14, from 8 p.m.-midnight. Admission is $5. This will be chaperoned and anyone leaving will not be allowed back in. Proceeds will go to Nancy’s Kids’ events and Elks’ scholarships. Food and pictures will be available for a small fee.

Elks host Valentine prime rib, prawn dinner
POLSON — Mission Valley Elks Lodge 1695 will be hosting a Valentine's dinner and dance on Saturday, Feb. 15. Prime rib and prawns will be served for $20 per person or $35 per couple. Southern Comfort will provide live music. For more information, call (406) 883-1695

POLSON – Come dance at the Mission Valley Elks Club on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. Ken’s Country Combo will perform, and treats are always welcome.
Soup’s On holds two-day open house
POLSON — Soup’s On Open House will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19 and Thursday, Feb. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at Wander Inn, at the corner of Seventh Ave. West and First Street West, across from Dempsey’s.
Soup’s On provides a free meal weekly, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Open House will have snacks and fun activities. To remind everyone of the grave affordable-housing crisis in Polson, a tipi will stand at the entrance. Donations gratefully accepted.

Consulting firm presents Polson Fire District evaluation information
POLSON — Representatives of Emergency Service Consulting International will be in Polson to present statistics from the agency evaluation they conducted on the Polson Rural Fire District.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. in the city council chambers at Polson City Hall.

Celebrate reading, meet authors at fundraiser
POLSON — Celebrate ‘I Love To Read’ month on Saturday, Feb. 22, by attending the ‘Meet the Author Night Fundraiser’ at the Mission Valley Christian Academy on Highway 35 in Polson. A $5 cover charge will be collected at the door from 2-8 p.m. Many local and regional authors and publishers will be on hand to sell books, sign copies and visit about their love of reading and writing. Paul Fugleberg’s collection of Schnitzmeyer photos will be on display, and a slideshow of photos from the Lake County School House history books will be presented. Used books will be free for the taking. A $5 dinner will be offered from 5-7 p.m. For more information about ‘Meet the Author Night Fundraiser,’ please call (406) 883-6858.
Fundraiser helps feed hungry
POLSON — The Winter Fest benefiting Soup’s On takes place Saturday, Feb. 22, beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is $9 for pork dinner, with entertainment by Southern Comfort Band, and Blue Smoke Band. A silent auction, 50/50 drawing, and door prizes will take place during the early part of the evening. Soup’s On provides a free meal weekly, along with a Family Table Dinner the fourth Friday each month at Wander Inn. To date, more than 40,000 meals have been served to the community.

POLSON — All are welcome to a free Mexican-menu community dinner at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E, on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 6-7:30 p.m.
Youth baseball signups set
POLSON — Polson Youth Baseball signups for ages 4 – 15 are scheduled for Feb. 27 and March 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. both nights. Signups will be located in the Polson Middle School cafeteria. We are also taking coaching applications for all age groups. If you would like to sponsor a team, please let us know. Team sponsors are very much appreciated.
