Hitch a ride to ‘Western’ dance
POLSON — It will be “Western Night” at the community dance this Wednesday, Feb. 4. Ken’s Country Combo will play Wednesday at the Elks from 7-10 p.m. Grab your horse, your gal and meet us on the dance floor. Treats are wonderful so bring your favorite to share and join the fun.

POLSON — Providence St. Joseph Medical Center will host a health insurance enrollment fair on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Certified application counselors and insurance brokers will be on hand to help with initial enrollment and re-enrollment. For more information, call (406) 883-5680.

‘Thyme for Herbs’ meeting planned
POLSON – The next gathering of the “Thyme for Herbs Group” will be Monday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library Meeting Room, 2 First Ave. E. The program will focus on “What Herbs and Foods Do We Need?” The discussion will include: what to plant in your garden this spring, and how eating only nutrient-dense foods can improve your health. Board to hold meeting
POLSON — The Polson School Board meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 9, at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at the district office, 111 Fourth Ave. E.

All invited to Kiwanis Burgerfest
POLSON – The Polson Kiwanis Club invites all to its annual Burgerfest on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Polson VFW upstairs hall on Main Street. Your $8 ticket includes a buffalo burger with fixin’s, salad, beans, pie, beverages and a time to socialize. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds go to Polson Kiwanis community Mission Valley youth projects.

Library offers free tech classes
POLSON — Free technology classes are being offered at North Lake County Public Library in Polson during the month of February. Space is limited, so please call the library at (406) 883-8225 to register.
On Wednesday, Feb. 11, Simple Photo Editing with PicMonkey will be taught from 3-4 p.m. PicMonkey is a free photo editing website. This class will teach you how to crop, adjust color, and add text and other features to your digital photos. Please bring a flash drive with a picture on it for editing, or have access to a photo via your email.
Youth violence discussed at meeting
POLSON — A Resource Round Table meeting will take place at the Lake County Health Department Conference room at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The presentation topic is, “Youth Violence-A Different World.” Hope you can make it. Lunch will be provided as well as a smile.

Museum shows film about logging
POLSON — Second Thursdays programs are held each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Miracle of America Museum with free and fun family entertainment. On Feb. 12, “Timberjack” will be shown, a 1955 movie. Parts of the movie were filmed in Bonner, Polson, Glacier Park, and other parts of Montana and Idaho. Authentic history of period logging mixed with a Hollywood love and hate story. Church screens movie on middle class
POLSON — The critically acclaimed film “Inequality for All” will be screened at Journey Be on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. The movie discusses the causes of the disappearance of the middle class. The 85-minute film is informative and entertaining and will be followed by discussion and refreshments. Everyone is invited. Journey Be is located at 101 Seventh Ave. E.

On Tuesday, Feb. 17, Introduction to the Internet will be taught from 11 a.m.-noon and from 2-3 p.m. This is a session for those with little or no experience using the Web.
The class will teach terminology, how to navigate the Web effectively, internet safety, and other beginning skills.
