Polson announces Thanksgiving plans
POLSON — Polson’s annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner will take place on Thursday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Polson Senior Center, 504 Third Ave. E. If a dinner delivery is needed, anyone can call the center at 406-883-4735 to request one. Everyone is welcome; dinner is free, with donations happily accepted.
Run, walk at Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
POLSON — The eighth annual Polson Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held Thursday, Nov. 26, at 9 a.m. Start and finish at Century 21 Big Sky Real Estate (on the corner of Highway 93 and Highway 35). We will run a racecourse down Hwy. 35 and around Mission Bay. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and cost is $5 with the proceeds to benefit Polson Loaves and Fish. For more details visit: www.polsonrunning.com.

Donate canned food, shop for holidays
POLSON – A Holiday Gift Market and food drive will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. Bring a canned food item(s) to the Red Lion Inn to donate to local food banks and enter a grand prize drawing. The Holiday Gift Market includes lots of unique hand crafted gifts, holiday items, musical entertainment and door prizes.

Application deadline announced
POLSON — Applications for Polson High School’s Traffic Education Class (winter session 2015-16) can be picked up at the PHS office during school hours. Please read, complete and return completed forms to the high school office by Monday, Nov. 30. The winter Traffic Education session will start Dec. 4, 2015, and end on approximately Feb. 19, 2016. Students must be 14 and one-half years old or older by Jan. 4, 2015. Class size is limited to 30.

Chamber meeting to focus on City of Polson
POLSON — The December meeting of the Polson Chamber of Commerce will feature Polson Mayor Heather Knutson and City Manager Mark Shrives discussing the State of the City. The meeting will be held in the KwaTaqNuk Resort on Wednesday, Dec. 2, from noon-1 pm. A native of Polson, Heather Knutson has served as Mayor since January 2014. She is also the General Manager of Country Foods. Mark Shrives holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and became Polson City Manager in October 2013.

Fire Board calls for special meeting
POLSON – The Polson Rural Fire Board has scheduled a special meeting Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station, 25 Regatta Road. Trustees plan to discuss needs of the district.
Republicans to meet
POLSON — The monthly meeting of the Lake County Republican Central Committee is scheduled for Dec. 2. The meeting will be held at the Polson Rural Fire Hall in the Sheriff’s conference room at 6:30 p.m. All interested people are encouraged to attend. Safe Harbor chosen as Kiwanis meeting topic
POLSON – The Polson Kiwanis will meet Dec. 3 at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in the Koostatah Room from noon-1 p.m. Our guest speaker will be Dee Ann Cates from Safe Harbor. The Polson Chamber of Commerce recently selected Safe Harbor as nonprofit of the year. Everyone is welcome.

Parade, open house set in Polson
POLSON — The all new Lake County Parade of Lights will be on Friday, Dec. 4, starting at 6 p.m. Polson merchants will hold an Open House on Friday, Dec. 4, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with refreshments, special promotions, an art walk and entertainment. POLSON — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1202 Fourth Ave. E (west of Super 1 Foods), invites you to “The Nativity: Polson” on Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-8 p.m. This celebration includes a Nativity Exhibit with over 200 nativities on display. POLSON - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints invites you to "The Nativity: Polson" on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 3-8 p.m. (See Friday, Dec. 4) A Christmas program featuring local choirs and artists will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Polson puts together Big Christmas event
POLSON — Looking for a great way to spend your Saturday prior to the Frozen Movie Night at Mission Valley Aquatics? Eat, drink and shop local at the “Small Town, Big Christmas” event in Polson from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 5, enjoy a horse-drawn hayride, visit with Santa, play $2 bowling, take a brewing museum tour and shop citywide sales. Visit each participating business, get your Christmas Passport stamped and you will be entered to win one of many grand prizes. Grand prize drawings to be held at Delaney’s Landscape Center at 4 p.m.

Attend ecumenical remembrance ceremony
POLSON – Partners In Home Care/Hospice, The Lake Funeral Home and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center would like to invite the public to remember and honor the loved ones in your life who have died.
An ecumenical ceremony of remembrance will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory at 101 Sixth Ave. E.
Each attendee will be presented with a lighted candle and paper dove to symbolize the tribute to their loved ones.
The dove will be placed on a Tree of Life, which will remain illuminated until the New Year begins. The tree will be located at St. Joseph Medical Centers’ Lobby. This memorial ceremony is open to the public and a reception will follow.
